| Training is done by certified Mental Health Professionals in the state of Mississippi. We use ASIST training along with a few other suicide educational/ prevention/ intervention types of training, according to your needs. There are many different types of training according to your age, line of work, what age groups of people you actually work with, and how you plan to use the training in the future. The ASIST training is FREE to each person for a limited time, through use of a grant. After the grant is depleted it will either cost us or the applicant for each person trained. So, we do want to be sure our applicants will go on to utilize his/her suicide prevention training received through our coalition. We would like to see everyone in the community educated on the danger, risks, causes and stigmas of suicide. We want to reduce and eventually prevent suicides in our community, and we want you to help! Please let us know, in your application, if you've ever had any type of suicide prevention training, because you may be eligable to step your training up a knotch and get college credits for your class time. Proper paperwork will be needed to do so.
