Things to know
Sail & Sign Card
You will want your S&S card on you at all times.  If you don't have pockets or don't want to carry a purse I suggest you use the Cruise Critic lanyard provided to you for this cruise.  When you get onboard you can go to the Pursers Desk and ask them to punch a hole in the corner so you can attach it to the lanyard.  You will need to take your S&S and an ID with you when you get off the ship.
Laundry
If uou plan on doing some laundry (and even if you don't - you might anyway), there is a laundry room on every cabin level of the ship. Bring at least one roll of quarteres and pre-measured detergent in Ziplocs (or store bought packets or tabs) and some fabric softener sheets.  They also offer laundry service for a fee.  While in Grand Cayman the laundry room is closed.

There are two or three washers and dryers, and one iron and ironing board in each laundrette.  The cost is $2.00 per washer load and $2.00 per dryer load.  Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.00 per box.

The ship will offer to launder one bag for a flat fee the day in Grand Cayman.  The steward will leave the bag in your cabin on Wednesday night for pickup Thursday morning.
Pursers Desk
The Pursers can help you with just about anything but they are hard to get on the phone and the line up at the desk can be long.  You can get a couple of decks of complimentary playing cards as well as free postcards from them.  The Pursers have stamps from each port of call for mailing.
Art Auctions
There are several Art Auctions onboard that serve free champagne.  Sign up for a bid number (you will use the same number all week) to be entered into a drawing to win free art (you don't have to bid).  They give out small sampling of the artword to anyone who has a bid card after the auction.  NOTE:  If you win the art you are responsible for the handling costs of approx. $35.00 for up to 3 pieces.
Tips - Reverse Gratuity
Carnival has a Reverse Gratuity Policy - they automatically add the recommended gratuities to your S&S account when you on embarkation day.  You can adjust these gratuties up or down for any individual on the Dining or Housekeeping staff  based upon the level of service received during the cruise.  To do this you must visit the Pursers Desk.

Tips will be $10.00 per guest per day brokendown as follows:
* $5.50 for the Dining Team Service (Headwaiter and Waiter)
* $1.00 for Bistro Service (Waiter and Cooks)
* $3.50 for Cabin Services (Cabin Steward)

Tipping the Maitre D' is at the guest's descretion.  For guests wanting to tip in cash, an envelope will be available on the last evening of the cruise.
Debarkation
You will be asked to place your luggage outside your cabin door before a certain time on the last night. Be sure you keep your toiletries and a change of clothes for the morning (including shoes).

When you get off in New Orleans, the luggage will be sectioned off by tag color.  To find your bags easier tie a color ribbon on the handles.
General Information
Take a sweater or some long sleeve shirts to wear in the showroom and for the dining room - both are cool.

Take cash to tip the tour guide on the excursion.

The shopping and travel talks are informative, but watch them in your cabin on the TV.

Get to the shows early to get a good seat.

Attend the Captain's Coktail party held on the first formal night.  There will be hors d'oeuvres and free cocktails.

Motorola radios are available for rental.

Read the Capers carefully as some things are in small print.
