By 1870, John�s travels took him to Graves Co., KY. At age 20, John went to work as a farm hand for John Hamblette. John became friends with another farm hand named Marcus Davis. He became acquainted with Marcus� entire family. Marcus had a sister named Amanda Jane Davis (husb. William Scott Coleman). Her daughter, Sallie Coleman was age 2 when John worked for the Hamblette�s. John used to bounce Sallie on his knee in 1870 and married her in 1889. On the 7th day of July 1889, the rites of marriage were legally solemnized by R. H. Bray between John Barrow and Sara Elizabeth (Sallie) Coleman at the home of Amanda Coleman in Hickman Co., KY.
John & Sallie had five children: Della, Brytha, Noah, Clarence and Adrian.
Della Doctara Barrow was born on 12 Apr 1890 in Beelerton, Hickman Co., KY. She married Sylvester Haney on 3 Jan 1909 probably in Graves Co., KY. By 1915 the family moved to Craighead Co., AR. She died on 7 Feb 1948 in Walnut Ridge, Lawrence Co., AR. Della is buried with her family at Pine Hill Cemetery, Jonesboro, AR Della & Sylvester had five children.
