Deer Island and Grand Manan, NB
This is one of the wild turkeys on Deer Island, NB, Canada (June 2004):
The long, purple flowers are lupins.
One of the many harbours on Deer Is.
Grand Manan Island:
This is the part of Southwestern New Brunswick, Canada, called Black's Harbour, where you take a large ferry (one and a half hours) to Grand Manan.  A small fishing boat is in this picture.
Grand Manan is larger than Deer Is., and it has awesome, tall rock cliffs.  You can see porpoises, seals, whales and special sea birds there.
This is the famous lighthouse near the ferry terminal on Grand Manan.  It's called Swallowtail Lighthouse.  You can walk on its grounds for free.  It's spectacular!  Bob and I looked down and saw seals fishing and swimming in the water below this past visit in August 2004..
