Charter of the World Economic Organization

Preamble

It is in the interest of every nation to form strong, friendly economic relations with its neighbouring nations, and those beyond.  The only way to promote a strong and lasting peace in the world is to both understand other nations, and to co-operate with them towards reaching mutally agreeable solutions to problems.

While the WEO must be neutral in all political affairs, it is through a solid cultural understanding of other nations, as well as a growing economic basis for friendship that most disputes can be settled and relations can eventually become friendlier.  The purpose of WEO is to provide a forum for economic co-operation, cultural understanding, and increased interaction of a positive nature between nations.

Similarly, all members of the World Economic Organization are aware of the increasing strain on the environment caused by rapid expansion and industrialization.   Accordingly, they include as objectives of the WEO optimal use of the world's resources, sustainable development, and sound environmental practice and proteciton.
