CBC Radio

The CBC Radio is the successor to the former Union Radio.  It's new mandate is to present thoughtful, original, informative and entertaining material through its various resources.  To this end, CBC Radio airs a number of programs to expand the mind and encourage debate and conversation on topics of interest.

Zeng Luo, Vice President for Radio, has announced the launching of two parallel radio stations -- CBC Radio One and CBC Broadcast News.   Radio One will continue to air entertainment programs, news updates, and cultural programs.  Broadcast News will present constant news, social, political and economic affairs programs.

Radio One has alotted a significant portion of prime air time to regional programs in each of the republics.  The initiative, intended to enhance the listening audience and provide cultural awareness, has thus far been extremely popular.

Broadcast News, in each republic, has alotted eight hours of every week to community-based radio programs to encourage local discussion of issues facing the areas where it can be heard.
