Unionists Suffer Losses in Republic Elections
The Unionist Party suffered a number of set backs as it lost control of six out of ten Republic legislatures.  Only Baktukarn, Methouane, Neepon and Quatl are still under the control of the Unionist Party.

The Democratic Alliance managed to capture the a majority in the Darivan legislature, and will form a minority government in Kataan, Niveskia and Vettenheim.  The Free Market Party will form a majority government in Reichland, and a minority government in West Nivikaarn.

Hans Bloecher, leader of the Reichland FMP, declared the elections "a triumph for democracy."

Gov't Issues Diplomatic Offers
Commonwealth Foreign Minister Valto Kuisma has extended diplomatic offers to a number of nations, including the Ascendancy of Andrea and the Austral Confederation, two old rivals of the Unionist Federation.

Mr. Kuisma also reaffirmed the Commonwealth's commitment to good relations with Kanjiri, Katabatica, the Worker's Revolutionary Republic of Neepon, Ostensia, Sapmi and Vetlanda.

CCB Announces Interest Rate Cuts
The Commonwealth Central Bank has announced a cut in interest rates in order to spur growth and encourage investment in the Commonwealth at large.  The CCB hopes to kick-start the economy and invite foreign corporations to enter the Commonwealth markets.
