
The Commonwealth Court is the highest judicial body in the
Commonwealth. It is comprised of 7 judges who sit for maximum of eight years.
Its members are appointed by the President and approved by the Commonwealth
Congress. In order for a member to be approved, they must receive a majority vote
from both houses of the Congress.The decisions of the
Commonwealth Court affect laws in every republic and so their verdicts are watched very
closely. A decision of the Commonwealth Court may be overturned by a 67% approval of
both houses of the Congress. |
