What We Do

Generate electricity
We own and maintain a number of generating stations throughout the Commonwealth, including traditional fossil fuel burning facilities, hydroelectric stations, solar and wind plants, and even nuclear plants.

Transmission from generators
We own and maintain the transmission system that carries the electricity at high voltage from various transmission points.

Deliver to you
We own and maintain the distribution system of power lines that deliver electricity as lower voltage to your home or business.  The distribution system is connected to our transmission system.

Connect you
We connect your home or business to electrical power and maintain that connection, safely and reliably.

Restore your power
We restore your power in case of outages and emergencies.

Services

Electricity
Through a variety of account types tailored to your specific needs, we offer efficient, reliable and safe electricity services.

Tree Trimming and Removal
At CE Electric, it's our job to maintain and repair all the power lines that make up our transmission and distribution system.  Maintainence includes free tree and vegetation trimming/removal and emergency repair along all of our lines.  If you notice a tree that's interfering with the lines, please call our emergency line immediately.  Contact us if the tree poses a potential threat to human safety or meets and of these hazardous conditions:
   1) The tree or branches are smoking, sparking or burning on a hydro line.
   2) The tree is an immediate hazard to the line (split, leaning, hanging over, uprooted)
   3) The tree is leaning on a pole.

Electrical Inspections
For your safety, insist on an electrical inspection.  It's the law -- all electrical installations, renovations and alterations are required to have an electrical inspection.

Open Market

With the opening of the electricity market to competition, you now have two choices in your electrical needs.  You can A) do nothing and continue to purchase your electricity from us at our Standard Supply Service rates, which will fluctuate depending on market conditions, or you can B) sign an agreement with a licensed retailer to buy electricity at a contracted rate, over a fixed term.

Be aware that you don't have to sign with a retailer.  If you do nothing, you won't lose power.  You'll automatically receive CE Electric's Standard Supply Service.

You don't have to supply your CEE bill or provide your account number.  It's in your best interests not to, unless you intend to sign with the retailer.

You have the right to ask questions.  Print out our handy retailer checklist and have it ready for retailers who come to your door.

You can cancel your contract within 10 days of signing it.  In this 10 day "cooling off" period, if you decide that you don't want to buy your electricity from the retailer you've signed with, the retailer is obligated to release you from your contract.  However, you are required to inform the retailer via fax, registered mail or personal delivery that you no longer wish to do business with them.
