Mr. Jansson was appointed CEO in 1511 by the CE Board of Directors.   Prior to his appointment, Mr. Jansson was a key negotiator with the government in dismantling the former energy monopoly and establishing Commonwealth Energy as a successor to much of the government's network.

In his corporate policy agenda (Commonwealth Energy - Powering Our Lives), Mr. Jansson made environmental issues and community involvement central to the interests of the company as a whole.

Mr. Jansson favours a corporate structure in which information from the bottom is able to reach the upper strata of executive decisions, allowing for sound policy decisions and greater opportunities to increase profits and market share.
