Background:

The Philadelphia Rug and Textile Society (PRTS) is a non-profit organization offering its membership opportunities to enrich their knowledge and appreciation of hand-knotted carpets and textiles. Founded in March 1999, our members number more than eighty individuals from the greater Philadelphia area.

"Good Books for $25 and under."

Our October meeting will be at Myrna Bloom's place on Sunday, October 29 at 3:30. It will be a fun afternoon of: Food, Music & Books. Richard Marcus who is an accomplished classical music pianist will play a few selected pieces. Myrna suggested a general topic of "Good books for $25 and under”. Myrna is also preparing some very special deals for members that will be present! This is our first meeting of the season, try to make it and have your chance to socialize, schmooze with your fellow members.

NEW PROGRAM SERIES: THE RUG SALON

the Philadelphia Rug and Textile Society announces the first Philadelphia Rug Salon, and wants to invite members who are interested in participating to come together to interactively discuss and learn about the endlessly fascinating world of antique rugs in a very different context.

PRTS Rug Salons will take place irregularly, perhaps a few times a year, at various locations to be announced, and will each have a theme dedicated to a region, a type or a motif related to rugs. We hope to bring together - up to, but not more than 15 people - to participate in each salon.

Membership:

Our annual membership dues are:
Individual: $50, Couple: $80, Students: $20,
Rug-related dealers: $100.

This year we are introducing a new membership level for Rug Dealers and Rug Related business owners, with membership for all their employees or significant others. We are also asking members to have a token of additional contributions, if possible.

If you would like to join PRTS, please print out the membership form (available on the "About" page), fill in the requested information, and send it along with a check for membership dues to the address shown at the bottom of the form.
