35 Weeks
December 16, 2002

I think I may be coming down with a cold. I feel a little congested in my chest so I'm going to take it easy today and hopefully it will pass me by. Both my kids have been sick in the last week and I"m hoping it wasn't passed on to me. Nothing worse than being sick at the end of a pregnancy (ok, so I can think of lots that would be worse, but I'm just complaining!). This does seem to be about the time I usually get a cold though; with Caylen's pregnancy I got a bad cold around 39 weeks, then with the twins I got one around 37 weeks. Hmm, the pattern seems to be that I get a cold and then deliver the next week, maybe I do want to get one, hehehe. Well, I"d rather keep the baby in until 37 weeks, but after that I'd be happy to see him in his parents arms.

Yesterday Tayler and I went to Deb and Henry's farm. Caylen was sick yesterday so she stayed home with Jason. Tayler and I had a good time, as usual. He got to go feed some cows on a tractor, so that was the highlight of his day. Deb and Henry spoiled us all with Christmas gifts. The gift I got was a wonderful housecoat that is so comfy. I'm so happy it fits, usually when people buy me clothes they are the wrong size, but Deb did a great job at guessing! It even covers this big belly of mine and I couldn't be more pleased.

Deb got to feel her baby move for the first time. I've been waiting for her to be able to feel it since it began so I'm happy she finally got a chance. Before when we were together the baby would be still (are all babies this stubborn??) and I haven't had a chance to see them in a few months, so it was nice to finally share that with her.

I have my next appt with Dr L booked for the 23rd. Looking forward to seeing if she'll book me for an ultrasound at that time!

I see that I haven't taken a picture in a while, I'll have to do that soon. I don't think I've changed much since the last picture, but it's hard for me to tell because I see it everyday.

I've been sick the past couple of days. Luckily those days were also Jason's days off so I got to rest a lot. It's tough when you can't take anything to relieve your symptoms. But just drinking tea and sucking on hard candies made me feel a little better.

So Deb told me the baby's name is now official! He will be called Jaxon (like Jackson) Chase. I think it's very nice. It's nice to finally be able to call him something other than "baby". The kids also like to call him by name. They point to my belly and say "That's Jaxon, he's Debbie and Henry's baby. He's a boy." It's funny how my kids just think this is the most normal thing to have a baby for someone else. They are pretty special kids!

I've been so sick lately it's been hard to update. Of course I've been busy with the holidays as well.

I had planned on making a trip to see my family on the 27th (I wasn't worried about going into labor while I was away because we all know I just don't go into labor early! But on the 27th my son and I came down with the flu so we spent our whole day in bed and on the floor in front of the toilet. Yuck! So it ruined our travel plans.

I have to make my appt with Dr L today. I planned on doing that on Friday, but of course I was ill and they are closed on weekends, so I had to wait until today.

I'm feeling fine, just anxious to get the show on the road. But I'm also being realistic this time and not expecting anything to happen until my due date. I don't want to get myself all worked up this time hoping every day will be "the day" and going crazy looking for any sign of labor. I guess this 4th time it has finally sunk in that I have no control over when it will happen and nothing I do will bring it on sooner, so why stress about it?
