| 32 Weeks |
| November 12, 2001 This weekend my grandpa got married. The kids and I went there and had a great time (Jason couldn't get off work so he couldn't come with us). I had been debating whether or not to make the trip (it's about a 4 hour drive) for a while now and finally decided I didn't want to miss it. It was really beautiful and I'm glad I got a chance to be there. I was pretty sore though, which I expected after the long drive. And the kids didn't sleep well either because they weren't in their own beds, but it was all worth it. Although, that is definitely the last time I will sleep in the same bed as my son until this pregnancy is over---it's hard enough to roll over when it's just me, nevermind having my little guy there and worrying I will roll over and squish him with my huge tummy! My feet and hands are also starting to swell pretty badly. I had taken off my wedding band a number of months ago, but was still able to wear my engagement ring. This weekend that came off too. And my feet feel like balloons. Even my running shoes (the only ones that are comfortable enough to wear!!!) are getting too tight. They are now as loose as the laces will go and still don't feel very good. Soon I think I will just have to take the laces out completely and wear them like that until the end. I'm 32 weeks 3 days pregnant November 19, 2001 All the fun stuff is starting now!! I have had to sleep on the couch the last couple of nights because my hips hurt too much in bed. And of course the few nightly trips to the bathroom make for a pleasant rest as well! haha! None of it is really bothering me though because this is all going to be over before I know it, and I know I will miss this time very much. Since Dr A is on holidays right now, this week I am seeing Dr L again. That will be nice. I've been monitoring my blood pressure still and everything seems okay with that. I honestly can't believe how fast time is going by. If I have the twins at 36 weeks (average) that is only 2 1/2 weeks away!!! It wouldn't surprise me if I went to 38 weeks or more, but of course babies come when they want so we'll see what happens. I'm still not really prepared to give birth to these guys yet. I have so much I want to get done, but just can't seem to get anything organized. I'm really running out of time here, so I'll just have to stop putting it off!! I'm 33 weeks 3 days pregnant November 21, 2001 I had my appt with Dr L today. Everything is going well. My blood pressure is normal, I'm measuring the same as last time (42cm) and my total weight gain is 31 pounds (which is more than I wanted to gain at this point, but is normal for twins). Michael's heartrate is 144bpm and Michelle's was 153bpm. Dr L thinks that Michael is still head down and Michelle is still breech. I have another appointment next week with Dr A as well as another ultrasound so we'll see then for sure what's going on. The problem I"ve been having in the last few days is heartburn. I've been eating tums like candy!! Oh well, that's not such a big deal. I'm 33 weeks 5 days pregnant November 27, 2001 I'm beginning to count down the days until these twins are born. I really don't dislike being pregnant at all, it's just getting difficult to sleep at night, difficult to walk, and many other things, so I think it would be nice to get this show on the road sometime soon. I went to see Dr A today. I lost a pound this week (woohoo!) so my total weight gain is now 30 pounds. I'm still measuring 42cm (which is normal because they don't have much room to grow up anymore so they grow out to the side and that doesn't show up on the measurements). The best thing is that I asked him if I could have an epidural this time and he said yes!!!!! I don't necessarily believe that the hospital will give me one, but at least there is a chance so I'm pretty happy about that. I also asked how far along I'd have to be before he induced me and he said not until my due date. Ugh. He also reassured me that most twin pregnancies don't go to their due dates, but of course there is that chance and that scares me. I've now outgrown most of my maternity clothes. I usually just wear my pajamas around the house, but if I have to go out somewhere I have to squeeze into some clothes (the pants are all too tight around my tummy and my shirts are too short to cover the lovely panel in the pants. Oh well, like I said, I"m sure I will miss this a whole lot once it's over. I have an ultrasound tommorow so I'll update with their measurments then. I'm 34 weeks 4 days pregnant November 28, 2001 I had my ultrasound today. Everyone is doing great. We got to see Michael sucking his thumb and both of them kicking each other. It was pretty neat. Michelle is still breach and Michael is still head down. I don't think they have much room to flip around anymore, but of course there is still a chance they could flip before the birth. Their weights are now 5lbs 9oz (Michael) and 5lbs 4oz (Michelle). I think next week would be a wonderful time to give birth to these babies, but we'll have to see what their thoughts are on that!
