23 Weeks
September 7, 2001 I had an appointment with Dr L again today. Everything is still going well. My blood pressure is good, I've gained a total of 9 pounds so far and am measuring 31cm (would be measuring 23cm with one baby). Michelle's heart rate was 143bpm and Michael's was 158bpm. I have to go for blood tests soon. Just routine stuff and the one hour glucose test. Ugh. I hate that one because they make you sit in the lab for a whole hour after they make you drink some nasty orange stuff. Anyway, gotta do what I gotta do. My next appt will be next month with Dr A and then I will get another ultrasound soon after that. I will also have to get the RhoGAM shot next month because my blood type is A- That's all for now. I'm still feeling good except for the regular aches and pains :-) I"m 23 weeks pregnant. September 10, 2001 Dr L's office phoned today. They made me an appt with Dr A and scheduled another ultrasound too for October 4. This is really great having so many ultrasounds, I've never had this many before. I had 2 with Caylen and 3 with Tayler (all before 17 weeks) so it's pretty exciting to see these guys on a regular basis. The babies are moving around all the time. That's a good sign that they are doing really well, although it does make sleeping pretty difficult. Jason felt them move for the first time a few days ago and he was amazed at how active they are. He asked if they ever stopped :-) I've been calling myself the human trampoline for a while now. I'm 23 weeks 3 days pregnant

September 12, 2001 I can't believe I look this big at 5 months pregnant!!! I'm still in shock from all the terrorist attacks that occured yesterday in the US. I guess it just makes you put life in perspective. All my little day to day problems are so very minor compared to what people are going through in NY, Washington, and Pennsylvania. It was such a senseless act and it's scarey to think of what might happen next. I'm 23 weeks 5 days pregnant. September 19, 2001 I've just been keeping quiet in the last week or so. I just don't want to complain much so I thought it best to just keep my big mouth shut for once! Haha. But I guess it's time for an update. Basically I'm just really sore. It feels like my pelvis is going to shatter into a million pieces. I'm having a hard time sleeping because every time I move a little it hurts and it wakes me up. It was my son, Tayler's, 3rd birthday yesterday. He had a blast. We took him to the park and then out for supper. He was pretty proud of himself when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday" to him. Then we stopped over at my mom's for a while. So it was a pretty big day. The part he enjoyed the most was, of course, the presents, but what kid doesn't? We will be having a birthday party for him on the weekend so he can play with his cousins. It should be fun. I found a picture of what a typical woman may look like at 24 weeks with a singleton, twins, triplets, or quads in my book "When you're expecting twins, triplets, or quads" by Barbara Luke and Tamara Eberlein. I thought it was kind of funny because I look more like the triplet picture. I guess everyone is different though. Here's the picture: I'm 24 weeks 5 days pregnant
