| August 22, 2001 I haven't updated in a while, but it's only because there isn't much to update. The babies are still doing well, kicking up a storm. I'm feeling good, except for my poor back., but that's to be expected at this point with 2 babies. Time is still going by too fast!! I just wanted to share my little story :-) Moments like these make me feel so overwhelmed with love for my children. Today I had quite a bad headache so I was laying on the couch feeling yucky. My kids were running up and down the hallway yelling and screaming, just being kids. I called out to my son who is almost 3 "Tayler, could you be quiet please? Mommy has a headache" He looked at me a little confused because I don't think he understood what a headache was. So I said "Honey, Mommy's head hurts." He came over to the couch, gave me a big hug and then kissed my head. He said "Mommy better now?" What a sweetheart!! So of course I gave him a big hug, and seeing as I'm the most emotional person on the planet right now, tears started coming as I was thinking about how truly blessed I am to have this amazing little man in my life. I can't imagine my life without my kids. Times like this also make me think that in just 4 or 5 months, Doug and Kay are going to start having moments like these. And I'm just so happy I could help them experience that together. I'm 20 weeks 5 days pregnant August 27, 2001 This weekend Jason is competing in the National Armwrestling Championships. We'll be going to Saskatchewan for the weekend. I'm really excited about it because I've been talking with a woman from the town we will be in since I started looking into surrogacy. She is now 31 weeks pregnant with twins of her own, and after more than a year of chatting I will finally get to meet her. I'll be sure to take lots of tummy pictures of us together and share them here. Nothing new to report on the pregnancy. The babies are still active, my back is still a little sore, and in general I am still feeling quite well. I'm 21 weeks 3 days pregnant August 30, 2001 I went out without my maternity belt on yesterday and oh boy was that a mistake! The babies seem to have moved into a different position where each one is resting on one hip bone. Ouch. Anyway, from now on I know to wear that belt anytime I go out to help lift that weight off my bones. Tomorrow I'm off to Saskatchewan. So everyone keep your fingers crossed that he will do well! I took another tummy picture yesterday. I'm feeling pretty huge right now! I'm 21 weeks 6 days pregnant. |

| September 4, 2001 I had a great weekend. I got to meet my friend, Leslie, for lunch and it was great. It was nice to have someone to talk to who is also pregnant with twins. We planned on meeting again the next day, but our schedules got all mixed up and we couldn't get in touch with each other. But we had a fantastic time when we were together. Jason placed third in both his right and left arms at Nationals. We are all very proud of him. I did have to sit on a bench for 6 hours to watch the competition though---OUCH! Everything on my body was sore, and the babies were getting mad at me too, stretching and kicking and turning all over the place! I'm getting so huge! I walk past a mirror sometimes and get shocked! Hahaha. Really though, I can't imagine what things will be like in another 2-3 months! No one can believe it when I tell them I'm 5 months pregnant. I was actually sitting beside a woman at the arm wrestling tournament that was due on Jan 18 (2 weeks after me). I couldn't even tell she was pregnant! She wasn't wearing maternity clothes and when she stood up I could only see the slightest bump! I guess twins really make a big difference. I took some pictures of Leslie and I together this weekend, so here is one. I'm 22 weeks 4 days pregnant |
