According to my newsletter, the babies are now each 12.5-14cm long (from head to bum---the don't measure head to feet because their legs are all folded up and it's hard to tell how long they are).

Nothing new to report today--which is a good thing!! We don't want a whole lot of unexpected surprises.

I still can't believe fast time is going by. If I have these babies at 36 weeks (the average twins are born then, but I usually go a little over the average!) then I am already halfway through the pregnancy. It feels like time is flying by.

I am soooo tired today! I was up so late last night because the babies decided it was time to get some exercise. It was so neat because I could actually see my tummy move when they kicked, which is the first time it happened this pregnancy. I didn't expect it to happen so soon. Anyway it was probably my own fault because I was so hungry before bed and just had to have a snack. My snack probably gave them lots of energy to bounce around.

Well, I officially made it to the halfway point now. As I've said before, the babies will probably be born between 36 and 38 weeks so if they are born at 38 weeks, I'm now halfway through. Time goes by way too fast!

My appointment with my OB and my ultrasound are in a few days. I'm excited about the ultrasound, but worried about what the OB will say. I haven't had the best experiences with OBs in this town, and although I'm seeing a different one than I saw before, I can't help worry about what his reaction will be. Hopefully all goes well.

I bought a heartbeat monitor yesterday to listen to the babies. It's called a Bebe Sounds fetal monitor. Anyway it's pretty lousy for hearing the heartbeats, but you can hear a whole bunch of other neat things---like when they move, I can hear that! So I'm still pretty happy with it. It also says it's best for hearing heartbeats in the third trimester, and I still have another 6 weeks or so until I'm there.

My OB/ultrasound appt is tomorrow so I'll update as soon as I get home.

Well, I'm back from the ultrasound and..........

AND

We almost didn't get to see that Baby A was a boy because he was playing with himself almost the whole time and his hand was covering what we needed to see! I'm sure he will appreciate me sharing that information on the internet when he gets older. So I was right about the sexes, but I thought Baby A was the girl and Baby B was the boy---I had them backwards.

So I guess now I will start calling them by name (Michael and Michelle)

Michael's heartrate was 155bpm and Michelle's was 149bpm. They are measuring about the same size, they are about 4 days behind where the average baby is in growth, but that's pretty normal. They punched each other a couple of times and the ultrasound tech said it looked like they were having a party in there the whole time. I figured as much, I feel them move all the time.

Everything else looks good too. My cervix is really long, which means I shouldn't have them really early. The placentas are high up and for now the babies are both head down, but of course that can change 100 times before the birth.

My new OB seems nice enough. I told him I was a surrogate mom, and he asked me if I was giving both twins away. DUH! Yep, I thought it would be a good idea to seperate the twins and keep one for myself! *shaking head and rolling eyes*

I bought a maternity belt the other day. It supports your tummy and is supposed to help with back pain. I got it because I'm having a lot of pelvic pressure now (of course I am, I have two 19 week babies' heads pressing down!). Anyway, I've only worn it once, but so far so good!
