18 Weeks

It's been a very busy week! We moved into a new house and all the packing, moving, unpacking, and cleaning has wiped me out!!! My back has been pretty sore this week, but I think it's more from doing too much around the house than from the pregnancy.

I have another fecg booked for September 6th. Hopefully the baby will cooperate this time!!

The baby is laying in a funny position, and it's not making me very comfortable. I'm pretty sure it's still facing my back as I don't feel many kicks. And a lot of times I get pains in my back one after the other that I can only assume is the baby kicking my spine. Not bad now since the baby is so small, but I'm hoping he/she will turn soon because I can imagine a strong kick to the spine could hurt a lot! And I'm sure it's still lying transverse as well because my hips feel like they are going to fall apart one of these days (kind if like a baby's body is pushing them apart). Oh well, all of these things are only temporary and soon enough there will be another person in this world because of the sore back and hips---certainly well worth it.

Haven't had any time to do anything besides cleaning, organizing, and unpacking lately! So I am totally overdue for an update.

I feel kicks sometimes from the baby. Mostly it is at night when I am laying down. Some nights I don't feel anything but I think it's because the baby keeps flipping over. Sometimes it's facing my tummy and that's when I feel kicks and sometimes it's facing my back and that's when I don't feel anything (except sometimes little pains in my spine). The  other day when I woke up the baby was scrunched up on my right side. It looked pretty funny, one side of my tummy was flat and that other had a big hard ball on it, very weird.

I still think it's a girl. I hope since I've been saying that so much I won't be proven wrong. :-) Well, I know my IPs would be thrilled with a boy or a girl so it doesn't matter that way, I just don't want to look silly for being so confident it's a girl.

My FECG is on Friday. Jason and I are going to take advantage of the little trip and have a date. It will be nice to have some alone time because these last few months have been spent getting stuff around the house done and we haven't had a lot of time to spend together. Can't wait.

We are officially at the halfway point now!!! It seems like it's gone pretty fast to me, but Deb tells me the time is dragging on, lol. Hopefully I won't go overdue this time, but I'm thinking I probably will. Time will tell I guess, hopefully the baby will get here on my b-day because that was my prediction!

Oh boy I had the most awful leg cramp last night. I mean, it wasn't more painful than any other I've had, but it lasted for so long! Ouch. Calcium seemed to help them before so I guess I'll start trying to get more again.

Got some pictures developed finally.

I went for my FECG yesterday. Luckily the little one was cooperative this time. The heart looks very normal, but of course it isn't a 100% for sure thing that everything is alright. So most likely all is well, and there is only a slight possibility  that something could be wrong.

The baby was doing lots of flips during the ultrasound yesterday. It went from head down to sideways with the spine up to sideways with the spine down and then back to headdown. Deb suggested maybe the baby will be a dancer, I suggested maybe it will be hyperactive :-) She told me to bite my tongue, hehehe.

Deb and Henry weren't planning on coming to this appt, but by chance they happened to be in the city that afternoon too. So they stopped by and Henry got a chance to meet Jason (only Deb met him before).

Then Jason and I got a chance to spend some time together without the kids. It was nice.

The baby seems to have gotten itself into a new position now (I think it's head down) because my belly is a different shape now and it feels different. I hope it gets really comfy in this spot!
