| September 12, 2002 I had my prenatal check-up with Dr. Ligate yesterday. And everything looks very good. I've been having such an easy pregnancy and it looks as though the baby is having an uneventful time too. I'm measuring 24cm, which she still thinks is way too big. But I've had 2 ultrasounds now and the baby is not big, I don't have too much fluid, the baby isn't sitting high or anything like that so I'm not too sure why I've been measuring big so much. It's probably because I had twins last December, or perhaps it's because this is my 4th pregnancy (5th baby). Anyway, she isn't concerned at all about it. The baby's heartrate was 148 beats per minute. That's in the same range as Tayler and Caylen always were and also around the same as Michele, so not really indicating anything gender wise :-) I'll take this opportunity to say I still think it's a girl. Hehehe, everyone is going to laugh at me so hard if I'm wrong!!! My total weight gain so far at 21 weeks is 2.5lbs!!! Very excited about that. I tend to gain most of my weight at the end, so keeping things down in the beginning is good for me. Although I will say I'm definitely not trying to keep from gaining a lot of weight, I'm eating normally. But I guess I've been pretty busy lately and I'm sure that has played a roll in me not gaining too much weight. So all is well and I go back in another month or so. I have a digital camera now, so it shouldn't be so long of a wait between pictures anymore! I'm 21 weeks 2 days pregnant September 14, 2002 Took some more pictures of my belly to day, so here it is: |

| Haven't quite mastered the art of taking pictures of myself yet, hehehe. Hopefully soon I'll be able to put ones up where I don't look so silly :-) I'm 21 weeks 4 days pregnant September 22, 2002 Yesterday we went to a wedding. We got to see many people on Jason's side of the family that we haven't seen in a few years. It was fun to see all the new babies and how everyone has changed. I will admit I felt like clubbing my husband over the head for most of the night. Here's the story. Okay, you know how when you are pregnant about 1/2 of the people you see will ask when your due date is or comment on the pregnancy, and the other half will never come out and say anything on the slight possibility you aren't pregnant and just gained a lot of weight or something. Well, that's how it was last night. Many people coming up to us and congratulating us on the pregnancy which of course I explained wasn't ours to keep. Some were shocked, some were pretty excited and some didn't really comment much. The problem came with the people who just hinted at it, and also sometimes with the people who even blurted it out, but if I wasn't right there to catch the conversation, Jason handled it himself. Someone would say something like "you are going to need a minivan soon" and he'd say, "oh no, we're not having any more kids, 2 is enough!" and just leave it at that and as I said, if I wasn't right there to add anything onto that, that was all the person got. So I'm standing there with my obviously big belly and he's telling everyone that our 2 are the only two and not explaining I"m pregnant but it's a surrogacy!!! So half the people at the wedding just think I got really fat! There was no place I could take Jason off to the side and tell him how rude he was being to me, so I just had to try and stick to his side like glue the whole night to explain myself. Many, many times it didn't work. I swear the whole night if I left him for 2 seconds I'd hear "Oh no, our family is done with these 2 kids". And his family is not the type to gossip, or spread news at all, so half the people there will continue to not think I was pregnant but just had a really big tummy. Well, that's a mistake he won't be making again anytime soon, lol. The baby is kicking all over the place now. And rolling around almost everynight. It gets the hiccups every few days. The other day I told Deb I was craving chocolates and maybe it was a boy afterall (only craved chocolates with my son). 3 days later what came in the mail? A big box of chocolate bars!!! How sweet of her. It also came along with a few other gifts. I've thanked Deb so many times for being such a good friend, for being such a wonderful IM, for everything, but it never seems enough. She didn't have to be this great, but she has made this experience so terrific by making such a huge effort and being a good friend. So thank you Deb :-) I'm 22 weeks 5 days pregnant |
