| 11 Weeks |
| July 1, 2002 Been a long time again! That's partly because there isn't much new going on with the pregnancy, and partly because we are having some major computer problems and I'm lucky if I can get online for a few minutes a day. I had my first morning sickness incident the other night. I was craving a Dairy Queen Blizzard all day long, so Jason got me one. I ate half of it and then had an urgent meeting with the toilet bowl. I'm not sure if it was morning sickness or a little bug I caught because I haven't felt that way before, or since. Still thinking the baby is a girl, and I'm more convinced than ever. I have some belly pics of me at 10w4d and 11w3d, but my scanner is not working with all these computer problems we are having so it could take a while for me to get them up. I'm 11 weeks 4 days pregnant July 3, 2002 I was supposed to have my appt with Dr L this morning, but she got called to the hospital for a delivery, so I got rescheduled for this afternoon. They tried to reschedule me for July 12, but I told them to get me in sooner because I would be almost 14 weeks by then and this is my first appt. So they found a spot for me today. While I was there I got to fill out all those papers with the receptionist, which is always fun when you are a surrogate. They ask for your marital status so I tell them I'm married, and they have my name down as "Brandy D..." then ask for my maiden name, which is "K...." Then they ask for the baby's father's name so I said "Henry" and she wrote his last name the same as mine and I didn't want to correct her because I didn't want to have to explain the whole situation to the receptionist. And then they ask for his birthdate, which I do know, but couldn't think of at the moment, so I had to say "I don't know". This of course makes me look like a huge idiot since she thinks he's my husband and I don't know his birthday! Oh well, now I just have to explain to Dr L that this is another surrogacy and hope she's okay with that. I hate the first appt!! I had my first dream about the baby a couple nights ago. I dreamt that it was a boy and he was born right now. Of course it's way too early for a baby to be born and survive, but in my dream he did and he was doing really well. The problem is Deb and Henry were on vacation (right now Deb is but Henry is at home) and they couldn't get an early flight home. So they couldn't come see him for another week! I had to take care of him until they came home. I'm feeling a little queezy every now and then in the last few days. Nothing bad at all, and I'm not sure if it's morning sickness or a regular sickness because my daughter is having troubles as well. Time will tell I guess. Either way, it's not really bad, so it doesn't really matter----it just keeps me from eating too many sweet things which is a very good thing. I'll update with the details of my appt later, possibly tomorrow because I'll be busy all night. I'm 11 weeks 6 days pregnant July 7, 2002 I guess I never did update after my appt! Everything went well, but I was pretty disappointed with the appointment. Dr L came in for about 2 minutes and then a new doctor did my whole exam. She's just learning the ropes so it took her 3 tries to get my blood pressure (which is normal). She couldn't find the heartbeat and said it was too early, but I heard Tayler and Caylen's heartbeats at 11 weeks so she just wasn't looking in the right spot! She didn't really tell me much. I chickened out and didn't say it was a surrogacy because Dr L wasn't even there and I didn't want to explain to her and then to Dr L next time too. So all in all it was pretty much a waste of time. For sure at my next appt I will get to hear the heartbeat! Here are some pics of my huge tummy! The first one was taken at 10w4d and the second one at 11w3d. In the 11 week one I am wearing a dress that I got with a gift certificate that my lovely IM sent me as a surprise. That was really sweet of her, and I really enjoy my dress because it is sleevless and cotton and really helps with the heat! I'm 12 weeks 4 days pregnant |
