| CHAPTER 6 When we got to lunch Reese was a little annoyed with all the people talking to me when he wanted to. I went to Malcolm's table and told him where to meet us. He agreed and I said Hi to all his friends. Jen and I sat at the girl table, which is right next to the guy's table. Justin sat with his friends. Both Matt and Josh were laughing when he sat down and they knew he wasn't in a good mood. Matt asked, "Where is your girlfriend?" "Shut up she is not my girlfriend." "Wow someone is in a bad mood...what's wrong did she dump you." "I said shut up she is not my girlfriend" Ashley said, "Who's your girlfriend?" "I don't have a girlfriend can't you people understand that." Josh said, "It's that new girl...Amber." Kim (she likes Reese) said, "Eww... that girl is a bitch...and she hangs out with the popular clique.... they are all the same." "She's not a bitch.... you don't even know her so you can't even say that." "OK why are you being so edgy" "I'm not why do you keep questioning me just leave me alone OK?" "Fine sorry." "Your girlfriend is coming over here," Matt said. Reese glared at him, "Leave me alone." "Hey Reese, Hey guys" I said. Ashley and Kim rolled their eyes. I looked at Reese. Reese said, "This is Kim and this is Ashley, and this is Amber." "Hi" I said. They both replied in a nice voice. "So are any of you guys going to winter ball?" Everyone looked at each other and looked at me like are you joking. Reese replied, "Yeah I guess." I smiled at him, "you're a dork...you guess...come on how could you miss it." He laughed... "I'm going." Jen yelled to me. "Well, I gotta go back to my table." "Bye" Reese said. Then Matt and Josh said good-bye. Ashley and Kim just talked under their breath finally. "What is wrong with you...winter ball? Are you crazy? People like us don't go to winter ball." "What do you mean People like us?" "We just don't go we stay home and pretend we are having fun, that's what we do." "Well, that's about to change.... I guess the WE term is not for all of us, is it?" "You like her don't you.... I can't believe you like her" Kim said. "I don't like her" he replied. "Yes you do...You can so tell why are you lying about it." Ashley said. "You know you do I mean come on winter ball, seriously man, what is your problem." "I don't like her I swear.... we are just friends." "Yeah OK whatever" Ashley said. "So..."Matt tried to change the subject because he knew that Kim didn't want to talk about Amber, "Is anyone else going to winter ball?" They all looked at each other. Josh said, "We should go, I guess we could ya know it might actually be fun." Kim smiled at Reese, "I'm in." "Yeah me too.... you gonna go with anyone." Ashley said. "So Reese, are you going to ask Amber?" "Shut up...I don't like her like that" Reese got up and left the cafeteria. Kim went up to get food. "Guys we can't let Reese go out with Amber she will just hurt him...besides Kim likes him we have to hook them up." Ashley said. "You know she will just use him.... hey get her to ask him to the dance before he goes with Amber." Said Josh Kim got back Ashley said, "Hey Kim come with me, lets go find out from Malcolm if he likes her." "All right" "Hey Malcolm." "Hey" "Umm... we have a question for you." "What is it?" "Umm...does your brother like Amber?" "I don't think so they are just friends." "Will you find out who he likes for us...Please." "Umm... OK but why do you want to know?" "Well...." "Hey Malcolm" "Hey Amber." "Umm...more people are going to the mall with us.... were did your brother go?" "Umm...I am not sure.... he usually goes to the...." "He went somewhere to get away from you." Ashley told her. Amber looked at her and replied, "Umm... yeah right I am sure it was because of me. Not because you're a pathetic loser." Malcolm said. "Shut up Ashley, he went to the gym to play basketball because you guys were annoying him and I won't find out who he likes for you all I know is that he don't like Kim at all so she can stop obsessing over him." "We'll see about that," Ashley said, "As soon as he realizes that Amber is fake, ugly and nasty he will totally go for her." Amber said, "Watch your back chick because when I am threw with him he won't even remember either one of you freaks.... I am gonna find him.... so why don't you guys go find someone else to go out with you." CHAPTER 8 Reese was relieving stress in the gym by playing basketball. I went up to him and asked him what was wrong He replied, "I don't know everyone is just getting on my nerves today...its not one of my good days." "Your two friends Ashley and Kim are so out to get me. What is wrong with them?" "I don't know they don't want me to talk to you, they like hate you, I swear." "Why would they hate me, I mean I don't even know them at all." "I don't know maybe cause your friends with me and you know how irresistible I am" He said as he jokingly put his arm around me. Kim and Ashley were spying on us outside the door. Kim said, "He does like her, he lied to us." Reese said, "Don't listen to them they would like you if they knew who you really are...I know I do" "Aww... that's so sweet. You are like the nicest person that I know" I hugged him, "Well I am gonna go back to the Lunch room to talk to Jen." "All right bye." "Bye hun" I smiled and waved. Kim and Ashley ran back to their seats. "They like each other I know they do." Kim said to Matt and Josh. "Don't worry about it he won't for long...if I have anything to say about it." Ashley said. "Come on you two you can't make him like Kim and not like Amber." Josh said. "Yeah I mean like she is hot and everything.... she has everything going for her even Reese." "Yeah, but Reese is mine so she will back off." Kim said. I went back to my table and told Jen and Nikki what Ashley had said. Jen said, "She has been in love with Reese for so long...I'll show her she can't get him like she thinks she can, she has been jealous of me for so long and its time to take advantage of that." "What are you going to do" "Oh you'll see tomorrow, during lunch." "Really.... sounds sweet..." "Revenge is always sweet." We both smiled and looked over at her. CHAPTER 9 Finally we all met at the cafeteria. Jen, Nikki and I walked to the cafeteria and met Reese and Malcolm there. Tyler, Bob, Mike, Jay, Chris, Derek, and John were all in the cafeteria. Tyler, Jay, and Derek were all going to the mall with us. The guys went off to the arcade while we went shopping for dresses for winter ball. Malcolm and Reese went friends with the guys to begin with but they hit it off. They all asked me to winter ball so I said I was going alone but I would dance with them. They all agreed with it. Reese didn't ask me but I figured he wouldn't because he didn't like me. Jen was being really nice to Reese and Malcolm because she had never talked to them before. She really started being cool with the fact they were friends with me. I was flirting with all the guys...something I do best. Finally I found the perfect dress. It was light purple and spaghetti strapped. It had sparkles all over it and it was just really pretty. We went to the food court and got dinner. My Mom was picking us all up. When we got home Reese called me and asked me if I wanted to go play basketball with him. I told him I would be right over. I wasn't that good at basketball but it was still fun. We played one on one...it wasn't a real game we were just joking around. I won of course. Then we went in a watched TV for a little while. Kim called Reese and Lois called up to him to get the phone. We were both in his room so I asked him who was on the phone. He told me Kim so I said I have to go. Reese said, "Hold on wait a minute, Kim I have to go bye." Then he hung up. Reese asked me why I was gonna leave and I told him that I didn't want to have anything to do with her until she stops saying stuff about me. He said sorry but she is just jealous like I told you before. I just smiled at him. "Well, I should go anyway." "Ok I will walk you home." "You don't have to" "Yeah I do...what was that you want me to walk you home" He joked I just laughed at him. We walked to my house "Bye" "Bye" CHAPTER 10 The next day we walked to class together. We hung out a lot at school. Nikki came running to me and Jen. "OMG guys guess what??? Kim is gonna ask Reese to winter ball during lunch." "We'll see about that," Jen said. Kim walked by and gave me a dirty look, we just looked at each other. "Please she is a dork she isn't a threat." Finally we were in lunch. Kim said, "Umm...Reese can I ask you something?" "Sure what is it?" "Well... I.... I... was wondering... if..." "Hey Reese" I interrupted and glared at Kim. Jen sat down on the other side of Reese. "Hey hun... yesterday was fun don't ya think.... I was thinking we should go to winter ball together do you think so?" She smiled at him. "Umm... yeah sure it sounds great." "OK great." We both left. Kim was so mad she started going off on Reese. "What is your problem can't you tell that they are just using you and they seriously don't like you." "OMG you just got asked out by one of the most popular girls" Matt said. "Sweet" Said Josh, "You are going out with a hot girl." Kim gave him a nasty look. So Josh asked her, "Oh what are you going to ask Reese?" "Nothing" When I got home I called my on and off boyfriend. Our distance relationship was so not working so we decided to break up. It was kind of weird knowing that one of my friends was going with my best friend to the dance. I didn't call Reese at all that night because I knew that Jen was gonna call him. I called Nikki. Jess and Britt were over at her house. The all picked up a phone so we were all talking to each other for a while then Jess and Britt went online to talk to people. I told Nikki about how it was weird that Reese and Jen were going to the dance together. She suggested that I liked him and I disagreed with her. "We are like tight like best friends, ya know its just a FRIEND relationship, I seriously don't like him." "You just don't want to admit it but it is so obvious...You should see the way you look at each other." All Reese could talk about on the phone was Amber. So Jen told him that she had to go and she would talk to him tomorrow. Reese wanted to call Amber but he didn't know if he should. So he called her and her line was busy. Nikki said, "Well I still think you like him I mean come on you have feelings for him." "I seriously don't I mean we are just friends, anyway I have to go." "OK bye" After I got off the phone I went to bed because I was tired. I kept thinking about what Nikki said and I kept thinking about Reese. Reese was upset because he thought that I was mad at him so he couldn't sleep either. The next day Reese went up to my house like usual with Malcolm so we could walk to the bus stop. I was being really quiet because it just felt weird being around him now. He asked me what was wrong and I told him "nothing I am just tired, I was up late last night." "Me too, I couldn't sleep." As soon as we got to school Jen came up to Reese and started talking to him. I walked over to Nikki and told her that I didn't like him. Malcolm said bye to me and went to his class. The dance was tonight. I was talking to Jay and Tyler. I started acting normal around them. In lunch I talked to Reese but just for a second and Jen started talking to him. Matt asked, "What's up with you and Amber things not going well?" "What are you talking about" "She's not talking to you" "Yeah she is talking to me, just drop it OK?" "OK sorry" |
