My Future House Pictures Page 3
Week of December 9, 2001
Well, now that the permit came back and the supervisor has had time to get some sub-contractors in, the building has finally begun. Half of the forms for the concrete slab were installed and the sewer lines have been dug under the ground.
December 19, 2001
The sewer lines have been buried, all the forms are installed and the steal gratings for the slab are in place. The concrete should be poured in the next few days, too bad I will be gone for the next two weeks. The picture below shows the the lot as we head to the airport.
January 3, 2002
We are back from the snowless land of Rockford, Illinois and as seen below: I have a house!!! All the walls are framed and the roof is installed. I will try to give an update as noteable events unfold.
January 7, 2002
All the framing looks to be finished and most of the windows have been installed. Somehow the wrong windows showed up for the front of the house, so there may be a little delay on those. I was told that my frame walk will be on the 16th with the supervisor, so the plumbing and electric will be done by then.
January 11, 2002
The interior plumbing has been completed.
January 14, 2002
All the electrical wiring is installed. I think they may have forgotten a hot-switch in the living room.
January 15, 2002
Met with a couple guys to point out where I wanted my rear speaker wires and exterior speaker wires located. They let me add an additional pair outside and added volume controls for the outside speakers.
January 16, 2002
Well, we had the framewalk and found no real problems. I heard that the pool guys should be starting in about 10 days. Still no answer about the missing hot-switch. Later in the day they started putting in the insulation and prepping the outside for the stucco.
January 20, 2002
Looks like the outside is ready for the stucco. Also, most of the drywall has been completed. I heard that they do need to put in the hot-switch in the living room, I just have not seen it done yet.
January 24, 2002
I have not been to see the house in a few days, but I am told that the outside is prepped for the stucco to begin. Also, the correct front window has been installed, the dry wall is almost complete, the tiles are sitting on the roof, and the footers for the rest of my walls have been dug. In addition I learned that there will not be a hot-switch in the living room (I really did not care either way) and the pool guys should start on the 30th.
