| Belinda Moody a VCA graduate has been an active bass player in the international jazz arena, based in Amsterdam, Singapore and Melbourne equally during the past ten years. She has been honoured to perform with many extraordinary musicians including Terumasa Hino, James Moody, Jeremy Monteiro, Ernie Watts, Vanessa Rubin, Luluk Purwanto, Han Bennik, Jex Sarrelaht, Toby Delius, Collin Hopkins and Christine Sullivan. In 1998, upon her return to Melbourne, she initiated her own ensemble "Moody's Brood" which recorded and toured Australia in 2000 with the generous support of the Commonwealth Government. A popular bassist in the Melbourne jazz scene, she continues to perform at international festivals/jazz clubs home and abroad as well as teaching part-time at the Victorian College of Arts. Her latest original project is a recording made for Oxfam-Community Aid Abroad, inspired by landscapes of Central Australia (released in late 2001). |
