| Always put the clamp on the hose before you push on the barb because they will be very hard to get off. It�s difficult to show or describe the exact hose routing so try it a few different way to see what you think works best.
1. Drain the coolant from the engine. The drain is located under the radiator on the driver�s side. I only drained what came out. I didn�t drain the engine block. Keep track of how much you removed so you know how much should be put back in. If you have a 1/2" hose and a clamp you can drain directly into a bottle. 2. Locate coolant supply line under the oil filter. It changes from the hard pipe to the flexible tubing down there. You want to cut it before it tees off. See picture below 3. Cut coolant line using a razor blade or tubing shears . 4. Install Elsbett tee fittings into the cut coolant hose. They are hard to get on so I used a very small amount of lube to help get them on. The open hose barb on the tee should face towards the front bumper. 5. The coolant return is located on the passenger side behind the air filter. See picture below. 6. Cut it and install the second tee fitting. The barb should face the back of the car so the new tubing can run along the firewall. 7. Run the tubing from the return line along the back of the engine compartment and zip-tie it to the existing tubing. 8. Assemble the metal coolant tee and the temperature sensor. Cut the coolant tubing so you can mount the temperature sensor in the return line near the battery compartment. Face the electrical connectors toward the front of the car to make for easier wiring. (Picture.) 9. Connect the coolant lines to the heat exchanger. 10. Refill the coolant as much as you can. You may not get all of it in at once so you may have wait until you start the car to get it to burp some of the air out. |
