Professional Experience

I have behind me experience in working in some of the leading private companies in Sri Lanka in the capacities ranging from Personnel manager to Human Resources Director. Currently I work as the Human Resources Director of the Browns Group - Sri Lanka (since 01.01.96)

In the past I've worked in both Government sector and private sector. Starting off in 1975 as a Member of Academic Staff of University of Sri Jayawardanapura, I've worked at Sri Lanka Sugar Corporation as Research and Development Executive, Lanka Textile Accessories Limited as Administrative Manager, Usha Industries Limited as Personnel Manager, in the Browns Group of Companies as Group Personnel Officer and in Hayleys Group of Companies as Group Human Resources Development Manager.

Apart from work related experience I am a member of several professional associations in my field.

1) Member of the Sri Lanka Association for the Organisations Advancement of Science.

2) Member of the Soil Science Society of Sri Lanka.

3) Member of the Quality Circle Association of Sri Lanka.

4) Founder Member of the Sri Lanka Inventors Association.

5) Council Member of the Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka.
