Yew Kwang Hooi
Hi. I am a Malaysian Chinese born in 1979, in a town called Alor Star, Kedah. After graduating from Universiti Teknologi Petronas in 2003, I joined IBM Malaysia as an intern. Currently, I am working for PETRONAS, the Malaysian oil and gas company  as a trainee academician.

January 2005, I came to the United States to pursue a Master degree in Computer Science at Cornell University, New York.

My area interest is in computer, in particular, computer graphics and virtual reality.

Academics aside, I have a lifelong passion for pencil sketching of human anatomy and oil painting. I took strong interest in acoustic guitar although I am still very much a novice. During my free times, I can be found in the gym, playing badminton, tennis, jogging or hanging out with friends.

DOING IT MY WAY
"For what is a man?
What has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels,
and not the words of one who kneels.
Let the records show I took the blows,
and did it my way..."
- Frank Sinatra

NEVER GIVE UP IS A ROUTE TO SUCCESS
The most pathetic factor of underachievement is your reluctance to recognize and realize your potential. Opportunity begins with every first attempt and enhanced if you look at your each failure positively. And BELIEVE that your next attempt could be the successful one.

Edison would have failed if he had given up his 99th light bulb experiment.
BE VERY AMBITIOUS TO ACHIEVE GREATER GLORY

BELIEVE in the impossible, in the miracles, in the fairy tales, for the logical reason that they inspire you to do and overcome the most difficult task - Will Smith

To conquer the highest mountain peak, think of reaching the star - ancient Chinese saying.

Just thinking of meeting requirement, in the end, we often grapple to be on the average par.
Just thinking of doing well, in the end, we often just meet requirement..
Just thinking of doing the best, in the end, we often just become good.
But think of doing the impossible, chances are we will be the best in the crowd.

To surpass yourself, aim what is higher than what is expected of you - HIGHER, STRONGER, FURTHER, FASTER
THE CORRECT PATH
Tread the path not taken by the others, but don't be lost.
Tread the path least taken by the other... think again... it could be a dead end.
Tread the path taken by most others, we are just a follower.
So which path?

Choose not the path that limits your choices, worse leading you to the dead end.
Choose the path that opens up to more path, to more opportunities, to more choices.
Choose the path that leads you to greater glory.
"BELIEVE in the impossible, in the miracles, in the fairy tales, for the logical reason that they inspire you to do and overcome the most difficult task."
- Will Smith
"I am not, nor can I write a lot, but one thing I can say to you, FORGET ME NOT."
- William Shakespeare
"There is a tide in the affairs of men, which TAKEN at the flood, leads to fortune and fame; OMITTED, all the voyage of life is bound in shallow and in the miseries. On such sea we are now afloat, we must take the current when it serves our course, or lose our venture" - Brutus

FRIENDSHIP
A coin is easy to earn, but a true friend is hard to find. The coin depreciates but a friend appreciates over the time. I lost a coin when I sent you a mail/SMS but that's OK because I have got you.

Last night I caught some stars. I give them all to my friends so that they know how sparklingly special they are to me. ---------------*
Catch, this one is for you!

A good friend accomodates you; the best friend dares to speak against you, for your sake.

Titanic, though a great ship, still sunk; so the better ship is still the friendship.
AIM HIGH
I am aware of the fact that I am young and perhaps naive. But there is a very old advise about goal setting, perhaps older than any of you here.
If you just aim to be good, chances are you will be below-par.
If you just aim to be the best, chances are you will be merely good.
But if you desire to create a miracle, believe in it and labour for it, chances are you will stand out among the rest even if you don't become the best.

You can go only as far as you push.

"When I grew up, I want to fly the fastest plane ever built, make the biggest movie ever; and be the richest man in the world."

THE HIGHEST SKILL OF CONQUEST

Therefore the best is to attack his stratagems and deliberations, the next best is to attack his system of alliances, the next best is to attack his army, and the worst, is to attack his cities ...
