The Good Ole USA
The Good Ole USA

When it was time to go home, I flew from Munich to New York. Where I caught a bus to Lakewood, Pennsylvania.
I had a job there at a suumer camp called Camp Weequahic. There I was the trips guy, which means I took the
kids on their camping trips. This had to be the best job at camp and it was one that I was definitely qualified
for, even with some of our mishaps.

I got to do some great activities with the kids, like rafting on the Sacandaga River. One of the highlights
of our trips to Lake George was going to the drive-in movies. Most of the kids had never gone before
and it was their favorite part.

Boating on Lake George, in up state New York. On this trip we also went to Cooperstown which is where the
Baseball Hall of Fame is and of course to the drive-in movies.

Me and Andre Carrier. July 1999
I also had to perform some interesting duties.

The water ski crew, run by Swampy from Australia.
When I had some free time, which was often, I went down to the water ski dock to help out with the boat.
Tough job, huh?

Me and some of the Polish crew took a day trip to Phillidelphia

Chicago Illinois
When it was time to leave camp I hitchhiked to Toledo Ohio where all but my immediate family live
(my parents are in LA). From there I took a bus to Chicago, where I stayed with some Polish friends
who I had met in Krakow, I also met Pavla from Czech here again. (I know it's a small world right?)
After a few days some of the Polish girls who worked at camp with me, met me there and after a celebration
we embarked on a cross country journey in one of the camp vans.

Mamoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park.

One of the great sights at Yellowstone besides geysers, waterfalls, boiling hot springs and mud pools is the
incredible variety of wildlife. This is an elk, but we also saw moose, lots of buffalo and eagles. After Yellowstone
we went to Yosemite National Park.

Bodie Ghost Town on the east side of Yosemite in California, September 1999.
Bodie has to be the biggest ghost town in the country. If you go to Yosemite you have to make it to the
east side to see Bodie, Mono Lake and the hot springs that dot the desert. After Yosemite we went to San Francisco,
the Pacific Coast and Los Angeles. I got off the van in LA and the girls continued on back accross the
southern half of the country.
