Open Court is the reading program we use in WUSD. This program has a strong emphasis in phonemic awareness, and sight word mastery. Scott Foresman is the Math program. This program will emphasize number sense. Harcourt School Publishers is our Social Studies program. Scott Foresman is our newly adopted Science curriculum. Second Steps is part of our Character Education program. Along with these programs art, music, and physical education will be integrated. All of these programs were designed to help your child meet the California State Standards. The standards are very high, so parental involvement is important!
