This is a copy of the second edition of "The expedition to Borneo by HMS Dido for the suppression of piracy: with extracts from the journal of James Brooke, ESQ., of Sarawak." This book was published in 1846.
The book also features a nice fold out map of the region of Sarawak / Borneo. |

At the end of World War Two a total number of 2,500 Australian POWs were forced into death marches. They were forced to walk from Sandakan to Ranau...from the 2,500 Australians only 6 managed to survive. This book is signed by 3 of these survivors plus by the author. |

First print 1896, Henry Ling Roth's "Natives of Sarawak and British North Borneo, Vol. 2". This copy was presented to the Bishop of Singapore and Sarawak at Christmas 1903, it later was stored at the Oxford Library and now it's in my collection...one of the most expensive books in my collection. |

Original token from the New London Borneo Tobacco Company Ltd. dated around late 1800's or early 1900's. It was used to pay workers - and was exchangable for goods at the company store. Because of abuses by plantation owners, the use of plantation tokens in British Borneo was outlawed in 1920. |
