The Bloat Page
Most of the stuff here is take off http://www.globalspan.net/bloat.htm
I suggest that you go there, if you are really intrested in researching Bloat.
Bloat (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus) is thought to be the 2nd leading kiler of dogs. Bloating usually occurs when there is an abnormal amount of fluid and air. Stress can also be a contributing factor. As the stomach swells, it can rotate between 90-360 degrees. This quickly traps air, food and water in the stomach, and blocks off viens, causing low blood pressure and shock. This can very quickly kill a dog.

Symptoms include:

Frequent attempts to vomit (usually unsucessful)
Your dog doesn't act like he usually does
Bloated adobmen that may feel tight
Significant anxiety or restlessness
Drinking ecessively

If you think your dog might have bloat, see your vet immediatly. Don't stand around wondering if it's bloat or not- if it's bloat, your dog will die before you reach a conclusion.
