JAO Ricksha Newsletter Vol. 53, No. 14

General Meeting
Date: Wed., Sept 6th, 2006
6:00 pm Cocktails
7:00 pm Dinner

Venue: Taix Restaurant
1911 W. Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA

Attitude Adjustment
The meeting at Taix this week will take a break from our usual speaker-oriented meeting to a freeform, relaxed theme. After the hustle and bustle of Nisei Week (month?), we are going to go with the flow and see what happens. Since it is the Presidents choice, look out. By the way, BVOC is still looking for their gavel, is there a visitation in the offing? Come by and see, if they dont show up, the BVOC Installations should be very interesting.

Sheriffs Round-Up
My year is not quite over, but is getting there. This means that all of you who said you were coming to an event or meetings have 2 meetings and the Installations to keep your word. I will be watching. Football season is upon us so... GO TEXAS!!

Jae Lee
JAO President

Last Meeting... Chop Suey Cafe
There was a good turnout for this first look at member Mike Gins reincarnation of the Far Ease Caf. Mike and his partners spent two and a half years and $2.5 million dollars (some of which was grant money, I hope) repairing, restoring and revitalizing this historic eatery. Along the way, they added a bar in the back and tailored the original cuisine to a more health conscious crowd while adding Asian fusion food as the featured fare. Check out the pictures of the evening here.
