Nisei Week Court Visitation
This week we will host the six Nisei Week Queen Candidates and members of the Nisei week foundation. This will be their first official visit and we want to greet them with full house. Our speaker this week will be David Ono, news anchor for KABC7. He is always entertaining and a good friend of JAO (he must be, he is willing to speak to us again). Do not forget, the lovely ladies of Nisei Week must earn their keep, they will be selling Nisei Week raffle tickets. A reminder from John "JT" Tamaki" in the past 5-6 years a JA Optimist has won the Grand prize 4 times. Jerry Fukui last tear, Paul Tamaki and Dean Higuchi twice. Who is next? So don�t forget your wallets. The odds appear better for us than the lottery.
Sheriff�s Round-Up
The end is in sight, but the year isn�t over yet. We have so much left to do. Beginning with the Nisei Week visitation meeting and continuing through the end of the year there are many more opportunities to serve the community. PSED Convention, all of the various Nisei week function, take your pick and join us as we finish the year strong.

Last Meeting...
The last meeting was a while ago as the LA Dodgers hosted the Japanese-American Community Night. Our beloved boys in blue faced Ichiro and the Seattle Mariners. The Dodgers won 4 to 2 and everyone had a great time. Check out the pictures on our website.

Scrapbook Meetings
Scrapbook Meetings continue every Thursday starting at 6:00PM at Toyo Miyatake Studio in San Gabriel. Join President Jae and his committee as they put together the memories of his year.
Samurai 5K
Normally at this time of year, the 5K Committee is furiously seeking help for the upcoming 5K. However, due to safety concerns, the 5K was cancelled this year because of Metro Gold line construction expected during Nisei Week. We do fully expect to resume the Samurai 5K race next year.
PSED Convention
The PSED Convention will be held August 11-13 at the Quails Inn Resort in Lake San Marcos just outside of San Diego. Room rates are $99.00 per night (800) 447-6556. Let Secretary Russel Fujii know if you want to go. (Russ� contact info below)
Printed Ricksha Copies
Thank you for your responses to hardcopy mailings of the Ricksha. Those of you who haven't responded yet, please do so soon. Other Optimist clubs and OI Officers need not reply. If you need a hardcopy sent to you please respond to my e-mail or phone below and we will continue to send the Ricksha out to you. We will assume everyone who does not respond is getting the Ricksha online directly or by reading it on the website. - Russel
