Program: The Olympic Academy

The Olympic Academy
This week we are happy to have Byron Shinyama, The Director of the Olympic Academy as our guest speaker. A branch of the Asian American Drug Program (AADAP), Olympic Academy is a long-term residential program for substance abusing teens 14 to 17 years old. Byron is here to speak to us because often times, teens appear to be socially well adjusted and doing well in school. They appear responsible but are still abusing substances, both legal and illegal. Please join us for this very important meeting.

Sheriffs Round-Up
June is a month of graduations, culminations and weddings. The doors of life close on past achievements and open to new hopes and goals. Throughout this year we have done many things to help successfully close the doors to chapters in the lives of young people and their families and help them set new goals and dreams. Sometimes it only took their knowing someone out there cares. Things we take for granted, like having our own toothbrush, holiday dinners and being able to home to friends and family mean so much to those we serve. As we head into the lighter portion of our Optimist year, join our Board and me as we continue to open doors for all those around us.

JAO President
