The Human Genome Project:
- The
National Human Genome Research Institute:
- The National Institute
of Health's site that gives you all the information you could
ever want or need.
- NCBI
Gene Map:
- This is a great site
for searching the human genome. Not only can you search for characteristics
and known disease locations, but you can also look at the actual
DNA sequence.
- DOE
Human Genome Research:
- This site is provided
by the United States Department Of Energy (DOE) and is nice if
you have any questions about the human genome project.
- Joint
Genome Institute:
- Supported by the University
of California system, this is an excellent place to look if you
have questions about anything on Chromosomes 5, 16, 19, or the
Mouse chromosome. They also have diagrams of the different segments
and the markers that join them together.

These
pages are a compilation of information relating to Biotechnology. I have
included links to other pages that are far more authoritative than mine.
Some words that I might use to explain biotechnology: DNA, Genetics, Pharmaceuticals,
Biopharmaceuticals, Ethics, Proteins, Therapeutics, Medicine, Microbiology.
While biotech products can be used in almost any application, I prefer
to focus on those areas relating to health and safety. More specifically,
the use of biotechnology to create therapeutic proteins, that help to
fight or eliminate specific diseases, as well as the creation of anti-bacterial
or anti-viral medications.
