What is Biotechnology? The broadest definition of Biotechnology would be, "the use of a biological organism to help produce a product." So I guess you could say that using a mule to help plow a field and thus produce a crop, is in some sense "biotechnology." I tend to lean more towards the more modern application of the field. Using DNA and Microorganisms to help produce a therapeutic product. I have included below a collection of links to sites that I feel in some way relate to Biotechnology broken down into four main categories:

These pages are a compilation of information relating to Biotechnology. I have included links to other pages that are far more authoritative than mine. Some words that I might use to explain biotechnology: DNA, Genetics, Pharmaceuticals, Biopharmaceuticals, Ethics, Proteins, Therapeutics, Medicine, Microbiology. While biotech products can be used in almost any application, I prefer to focus on those areas relating to health and safety. More specifically, the use of biotechnology to create therapeutic proteins, that help to fight or eliminate specific diseases, as well as the creation of anti-bacterial or anti-viral medications.
