A Final Farewell, But Never Goodbye
Memories of the Final Performance 10 June 2001
"This was a special moment for me in the closing show: In the last song, Brave Enough for Love, Jane begins with "Sir, I have come back to you..." and once he realizes it's Jane and speaks a few lines, he then sings..."I can't see, But I can feel". It's such an incredible moment because they finally embrace! (Yessssss!) But then they're are supposed to sing the next lines at the same time... R: How I've loved you every day J: I've loved you stronger every day But they didn't - they both sang Rochester's line: How I've loved you every day!! It was such a powerful moment for me because they totally came together on that phrase. While it may not have been what was written, it really made the final moments of the show special for me. I had seen Jane twice before, and neither show compared to the energy and finesse, the power and poignancy of the last one. That last line was like the cherry on top of all my wonderful memories. May Jane sing again!!!" ~ Leah
