| Ofcourse you want to know more about our love-story. Well, it all started when I, Melanie came to the Refuge House in 2000 as a volunteer. We soon became very good friends and Jander loved joking with me and he started praying about a relationship. But I did not know about this untill I was back in Holland again...... I also started praying but God was not telling me anything!!!! We stayed in contact by regular mail, email and sometimes we called. |
| In April 2002 I came back to the Refuge House and knew that I would have to make a decision. And because I was doubting so much, I decided that I would say �no� to Jander.....That was a really hard time, especially for Jander ofcourse. But after a few days, I started noticing that I had more feelings for him than I wanted, I was missing him more than I wanted......Finally through different circumstances in that week we talked and decided to give it a chance!!!! And since that moment I had no more doubts, but instead a lot of peace in my heart!! |

| Where Jander was very sure about me being the perfect partner for him, I was not very sure.... In the Christmasbreak 2001 from my Discipleship Training School in Fortaleza, I travelled to Belo Horizonte to see Jander again after more than a year. This holiday confirmed only more for him, but it confused me more than ever.....God was giving me a free choice, but I did not know what to choose! Soon I had to get back to Fortaleza to do my outreach of the DTS. I stayed an extra month there to work in a project for streetkids there. |
| And May the 3d of 2003 we got married!!! (And on September 12th again in Holland!!!) |
