Labor Force and Employment
Background
The estimated labor force in Pakistan in 1995-6 was 36.7
million. Out of which 25.91million were rural and 10.79 million urban.
Labor laws
For the benefit of the labor force, the Government has
announced policies from time to time
Besides labor policies different laws have been promulgated
for the benefit of labor force. Some of these laws are:

Industrial Relation Ordinance, 1969.

Employees cost of living (Relief) act 1973.

Employs old Age Benefits Act 1971.

Workers 'Welfare Fund Ordinance,1971
