Mancher Lake

West of Sehwan lies this huge lake of marshy areas and Indus spill over it should be visited in winter when it is a great place for fish and birds. A large colony of fishermen live here on large wooden boats. Traditional methods of fishing are used.

A local pastime is making rilli (a Sindhi patchwork quilt). The fishermen Mirbahrs use traditional nets and long submerged baited lines. They also net waterfowl and stalk herons by wading upto their necks and placing a stuffed egret on their heads as a decoy. Captive cormorants are tied to the barrels of their ancient guns.

There is a rest house at Bubak for overnight stay and can be booked through PWD at Dadu.
