Taumur 'Timmy' Hassan teed off to his first victory in the Junior Gold Championship in 1968. His passion for Golf was complimented by receiving the unique honor of becoming the first Muslim Golfer in 80 years to win the Sri Lanka Trophy. Adjudged the 'Best Amateur Golfer' twice, Taimur thus became the only Pakistani golfer par excellence to have received this title, first in Malaysia 1973 and then in Germany 1979. Taimur also held the coveted title of Thomas Cook Trophy. In recognition of his dedicated performance over a record course of time in the game of Golf, Taimur Hassan has been awarded the President of Pakistan's 'Pride of Performance'.
