Hydro-electric generation is Pakistan's largest source of energy, mainly
at the giant Tarbela and Mangla dams, but demand outstrips supply and lack
of power hampers the development of industry in many areas. Balochistan
has large reserves of natural gas while oil is found on the Potwar Plateau
and in southern Sindh which supplies about one-third of the country's needs.
