The ancient city of Aror or Alor lies about 8 Kms (5 miles) to the east of Rohri. The ruins of the old city lie on the eastern edges of low limestone's range, but there is little to make out today. Alexander the Great made a prolonged halt here, fortified and garrisoned the citadel before moving down the Indus. The city was also visited by the famous Chinese Buddhist pilgrim Tsuan Tsang in the 7th century AD the young Arab General Muhammad Bin Qasim defeated the Hindu ruler and took it over
