Jan. 5. Discussed with Lumley, Government. Bombay, the demand for Pakistan; expressed concern about the British press and public opinion being trapped by Congress and Hindu propaganda.

Jan. 7. Issued press statement on constitutional position of Sind ministry and Muslim League affairs, from Bombay.

Jan. 13. Attended a reception by Municipal Committee, Ahmedabad. Declared that realisation of Pakistan meant freedom of the country.

Jan. 14. Inaugurated 4th Gujarat Muslim Educational conference, Ahmedabad. Advised Muslim to make full use of education facilities.

Jan. 15. Presiding over Ahmedabad MSU's meeting, declared that Pakistan scheme was the only panacea for India's ailments. Sent message to a public meeting organised by Muslim of Hyderabad (Deccan) to celebrate his 68th birthday.

Jan. 16. Addressed a press Conference at Ahmedabad. Said, in a public meeting, that acceptance of Lahore res. by Congress and revision of All India Congress Committee's Quit India Resolutions would lead to freedom of the country sooner.

Jan. 22. Announced that there was absolutely no foundation for connecting his name with talks which might have taken place between Liaquat and Desai.

Jan. 31. After meeting G. M. Syed and Sir Ghulam Hussain Hidayatullah, issued a press statement on Sind ministerial situation. He said: ."... We must shed all personal quarrels and stand solid... Sind will rise and fully respond to my fervent appeal and thereby play its most vital and important part in the achievement of our goal of Pakistan."

Feb. 1. Advised Syed Abdul Aziz not to enter into correspondence with any Congress leader unless authorized by Muslim League and Congress respectively; considered Congressite Muslim as "traitors."

Feb. 12. Issued a press statement, appealing to ML leaders in Sind, particularly Hidayatullah and Syed to end their differences; stated he was glad that the arrangements for PML elections were satisfactorily arrived at between Syed, the President/Presidency. and the Working Committee of Sind PML, on the advice of Qazi Isa.

Feb. 21. Wrote to Raghib Ahsan, that matters regarding Bengal and Assam raised by him would receive due consideration by All India Muslim League's Committee of Action.

Feb. 28. Sent a strongly worded telegram to G.M. Syed for "letting down his leader and party."

March 7. Postponed meeting with Wavell.

March 9. Sent a telegram, to Raghib Ahsan for the success of All India Muslim League Conference at Calcutta; expressed his confidence to win Pakistan.

March 23. In A Pakistan Day message from Delhi appealed to the Muslims to make all sacrifice for the creation of Pakistan.

April 2. Branded Sapru Committee Report as "Hand-maid of Congress " in a statement from New Delhi.

April 8. RcplyingtoNazimuddin'sletterof 31st March, wrote about latest development in Bengal.

April 14. Wrote to Khan of Kalat that due to bad health he was moving to some hill station near Bombay where he would rest upto first week of June.

April 15. Replied to Nazimuddin's letter of 14 April about formation of Ministry in Bengal.

April 25. Replied to Mian Bashir Ahmad's letter.

May 21. As the chief guest at a prize distribution ceremony of Mathcran Muslims School. Urged Muslim to utilize their energies to remove their educational backwardness.

In his message issued from Matheran, to the Kathiawar Muslims Students Conference advised them to qualify themselves for the great future that lay ahead of them. Said: "Pakistan means not only freedom for us Muslims but all sections of the people inhabiting this vast sub-continent for us it is a matter of life and death and the only way to throw off the shackles of foreign imperialistic domination and avoid the clutches and yoke of Hindu Raj, Pakistan means a national home and state where we can live in peace and with honor according to Islamic culture and life."

May 25. Asked British Prime Minister, Lord Attlee, to explain Labour Party's policy regarding Palestine and not to shatter the confidence of Indian Muslims.

May 26. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, in a letter from Missouri, wrote that although a school boy, he was forced to write to him after reading Sheikh Abdullah's and Dr.Khan Sahib's speeches against All India Muslim League ; said he was proud of Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam), for bringing Muslims under one flag; hoped Sind politics would improve and that Sind would play a vital role in achieving Pakistan.

May 30. Liaquat Ali Khan said in an interview at Calcutta that Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) had rejected Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma's) proposal of Sept. last because it was "a mockery of Pakistan."

June 2. Thanked Raghib Ahsan for sending him various suggestions which would be discussed by All India Muslim League Working Committee after he had fully recovered and was able to take part in politics.

June 3. Expressed his opinion on the poitical situation in Syria and Lebanon.

In a statement condemned Charles De Gaule for the events in Syria and Lebanon and for the plight of the Muslims.

June 14. Lord Wavell wired him to attend Simla Conference scheduled for 25 June, desired to meet him before start of the Conference.

June 15. Replied telegraphically to Lord Wavell to postpone Simla Conference, so as to enable him to consult All India Muslim League Working Committee.

June 16. Received another telegram from Viceroy; agreed to participate in Simla Conference.

June 18. Sent message to North West Frontier Province Muslim Students Federation meeting at Peshawar.

June 25-July 14. Attended Simla Conference, Wavell formula (Caste Hindus 5, Muslims 5, Minorities 2) discussed. Opposition to All India Muslim League's right to nominate all the on the Viceroy's Executive Council led to the failure of Conference.

June 25. In his speech at the opening session of Simla Conference, said that Azad raised points which were totally irrelevant to the immediate proposals; Congress was a communal party as it only represented the Hindus & Muslims would not agree to any constitution except on the fundamental principle of Pakistan

June 29. Issued press statement on Lord Wavell's proposals.

July 6-14. Presided over All India Muslim League Working Committee meeting at Simla which considered his correspondence with Viceroy on formation of Executive Council.

July 7. In a Ietter to Viceroy, conveyed All India Muslim League Working Committee decision regarding formation of Executive Council.

Informed the Viceroy, Lord Wavell, of All India Muslim League Working Committee 's view point on his Viceroy's suggestions for submitting a panel of names of the Muslim League members for inclusion in the proposed Executive Council

July 8. Met Lord Wavell at Viceregal Lodge (Simla) for 90 minutes.

July 9. Informed the Viceroy that since he was unable to guarantee the inclusion of all Muslims members from the All India Muslim League, Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) was also not in a position to communicate him names of All India Muslim League members for inclusion on in his proposed Executive Council because the All India Muslim League could not deviate from fundamental principles.

July 14. Specking to a press Representative regarded Wave Plan as a snare and death warrant for Muslims criticized MKG Khizar Hyatt efforts to disrupt Muslims in the Punjab.

Addressing the last session of the Smile Conference said that Congress stood for united India whereas Muslim League for Pakistan and these two were entirely incompatible.

July 15. Addressing the concluding session of the first Simla Conference. said that "if Master Tara Singh and others can choose their own man, the Muslim League is right in insisting on its right to choose all the Muslims Representative."

July 16. In a statement, urged Muslims to contribute to Muslim League Election Fund.

July 18. Urged the Government , in a press statement, to publish Wavell- Azad correspondence so "that the public should know what, in fact, took place between the Viceroy and the Congress President ."

July 21. Declared that he would throw light on the question as to who was responsible for the failure of Simla Conference.

Aug. 3. Demanded release of Azad-Wavell letters.

Aug. 6. In an address at Bombay, revealed causes of failure of Simla Conference, urged permanent constitutional settlement on the basis of Pakistan saying, "Give me the silver bullets and I will do the job."

Presided over a public meeting at Bombay, convened to present a purse to him.

Aug. 9. Appealed to Viceroy and Congress President/Presidency. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, through press, that Sim1a correspondence be released to press.

Aug. 11. Accepted invitation from the Muslims of Port of Spain, Mauritius, to visit them.

Aug. 12. Presided over a public meeting at Bombay in which funds for elections were collected.

Aug. 14. Issued press statement on Azad-Wavell correspondence.

Aug. 20. Welcomed, in a telegram, Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan's decision to join Muslim League.

Aug. 22. In a telegram to the Viceroy, informed him of the grave situation in Kashmir, and said that as the Representative of the Crown and Viceroy of India, it was his duty to protect the Kashmiri Muslims from the Raj of goondaism.

Aug. 27. Asked Qayyum Khan, in a letter, to concentrate on North West Frontier Province in order to make Muslims there rally round the banner of Muslim League; Said that, he felt proud on Maulana Akram Khan being a member of All India Muslim League Working Committee.

Aug. 30. Appealed Muslims to rally round the Muslim League flag. Welcomed, in a statement, the resignation of Sir Feroze Khan Noon from membership of Viceroy 's Executive Council, and welcomed him to the Muslim League 's fold.

Sept. 1. In an address at Karachi, appealed to Sind Muslims to stand solidly behind Muslim League.

Sept. 2. Speaking at a gathering of reps from various Muslims organizations in Quetta; thanked the local Shia Association for joining the Muslim League.

Sept. 3. Urged the Viceroy, in a press statement, to hold an inquiry into the Kashmir affairs.

Sept. 5. Issued a press statement in a press Conference at Karachi, on political parties affairs in Sind Legislative Assembly, to clarify the position of the Muslim League.

Sept. 6. In an Eid-ul-Fitr message said that "Islam is not merely confined to the spiritual tenets and doctrines or rituals and ceremonies. It is a complete code regulating the whole Muslims society, every department of life, collectively and individually."

Addressed a press Conference at Karachi.

Sept. 11. Issued statement on political situation in Kashmir.

Sept. 15. Wrote to Khan of Kalat from Quetta about his proposed visit to Mustang.

Sept. 19. Refused interview to Nawab Bahadur of Dacca; advised him to meet Khwaja Nazimuddin, Muslim League's senior Member in Bengal.

Sept. 20. Commenting on Wavell's broadcast, said in a press statement "the division of India is the only solution of this most complex constitutional problem... and this is the road to happiness prosperity, welfare and freedom of 400 millions inhabiting this sub-continent."

Sept. 24. In an address at Quetta, urged Baluchistan Muslims to organize and unite.

Sept. 29. Sent telegram to Prime Minister Attlee that "President/Presidency Truman's reported Palestine immigration proposal is unwarranted and encroachment upon another country, monstrous and highly unjust. Any departure from the White Paper and Britain's pledge will not only be sacrilege and breach of faith with Muslims India but an acid test of British honor.

Oct. 2. Exchanged telegrams with Propaganda Secretary Shia Conference Lucknow.

Oct. 3. Cabled Palestine situation to Attlee.

Oct. 5. Again advised Nawab Bahadur of Dacca to explain his political difficulties to the' Muslim League leader in Bengal, Khwaja Nazimuddin.

Oct. 10. Addressing a meeting organized by Baluchistan Muslim League at Quetta, said that with unity in all ranks of Muslims, Baluchistan occupied "an important position in the all-India affairs."

Oct. 12. In a statement to Orient Press, supported Indonesian struggle for independence.

Oct. 18. Addressed Baluchistan Muslim Students Federation meeting at Quetta.

Oct. 23. Issued a press statement from Karachi, refuting Sardar Baldev Singh's allegation that he had refused to travel in a taxi driven by a Sikh.

Oct. 27. Addressed a public meeting at Ahmedabad where he was presented with a cheque of Rs.200,000 collected by Muslims of various Gujarat districts, for Muslim League Election Fund.

Oct. 29. Issued press statement asking Muslims not to attend meetings of Jamiat-ul-Ulama-i-Hind, Ahrars, and Khaksars, in order to avoid clashes, and wage the fight for Pakistan, untidily and constitutionally, backing Muslim League in the elections.

Nov. 1. Predicted Muslim League's victory in coming elections, in an interview to a correspondent of Associated Press of America.

Nov. In a meeting with Ceylon delegates assured them of full All India Muslim League support for their cause in Ceylon.

Nov. 8. Enumerated Palestine problems in a public meeting at Bombay assured Indian Muslims support to Arabs in Palestine.

In an interview to Associated Press of America clarified various aspects of Pakistan, its geography, political system and economy.

Nov. 9. In a public meeting at Bombay, refuted S.C. Bose's press statement regarding Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam's) claim of cent percent representation.

Nov. 10. Informed the Nizam of Hyderabad that his consideration of Sir Mirza Mohammed Ismail as the Prime Minister would prove detrimental not only to Hyderabad Muslims, but also to him as a ruler; forwarded him copies of correspondence exchanged with Sir Ismail in 1941 to determine his mentality.

Nov. 12. In an interview to the press, urged British Government to recall Indian troops from Indonesia.

Nov. 14. Replied to Shah Nawaz Khan's letter of 13. Nov.

Nov. 16. Declared, in a speech at Bombay, that time had come when Muslims should prove to world that Muslim League represented the solidarity of Muslims. Added that, each vote cast in favor of Muslim League would be a step towards the solution of the Indian problem.

Nov. 18. Issued a rejoinder to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statement in which he had threatened to start a campaign to smash the Muslim League

Nov. 21-27. Visited North West Frontier Province ; addressed public meetings and attended to Provincial party affairs.

Nov. 22. Thanked M. Abbas Khan for reposing his confidence in his leadership, by resigning from North West Frontier Province coalition cabinet, and joining the Muslim League.

Nov. 24. Addressing the North West Frontier Province Muslim League Conference Peshawar, said that Muslims of North West Frontier Province "are now alive and grasp fully the implication of the situation that faces the Muslims nation in India... the spell of Congress fraud has been broken. "

Nov. Wrote to Pir Sahib of Manki Sharif:, "It is needless to emphasize that the Const. Assembly which would be predominantly Muslim in its composition, would be able to enact laws for Muslim not inconsistent with the Shariat Laws and [that] Muslim will no longer be obliged to abide by the UN-Islamic laws."

Nov. 30. Issued a rejoinder to statement of Colonel Hay, Governor General's Agent in Baluchistan, on reforms in Baluchistan.

Dec. 4. Was declared successful to Central Legislative Assembly's seat from Bombay Urban Muslims Constituency. Husainbhoy Lalji, backed by Congress, Jamiat, and others defeated

Dec. 6. Issued a rejoinder the statement of Pethick Lawrence on India in the House of Lords regarding British Parliament Delegation to be sent to India under the auspices of the Empire Parliament Association.

Declared in a statement that "Muslims will never accept any method of framing the constitution of India by means of one constitution making body for all India... nor will they agree to any united India constitution, federal or otherwise, with one center"; stated categorically that any attempt to set up a Provincial. Government at the Center, which would in any way prejudice or militate against the Pakistan demand will not be acceptable to us, as the thin end of the wedge, as it is sought by India under the term of the Provincial. "National Government of India."

Dec. 8. Wrote to the Nizam of Hyderabad about his visit to Hyderabad (Deccan).

Dec. 10. Declared, in a press statement from Bombay, that his firm faith that in Pakistan lay in the solution of Indian problem.

On Nizam of Hyderabad's invitation to stay with him for one week during his next visit to Hyderabad (Deccan), replied the same day that he would not be able to visit due to electioneering in the country which was of utmost importance for Muslims of India.

Dec. 11. Announced in a press statement, that after Pakistan had been accepted, there would have to be frontier adjustments, where primarily Hindus and Muslims lands were contiguous.

In a press statement from Bombay, spoke on Wavell's speech and declared division of India inevitable.

Dec. 20. In a press statement, appealed to nationalist Muslims to avoid Congress and from independent organisations, if they were dissatisfied with Muslim League's policies; expressed confidence in Muslim League's success in the ensuing elections.

Dec. 21. Presented, at a public meeting in Bombay, with a purse of Rs.47, 000 on behalf of Memon Chamber of Commerce and other Muslims organisations and individuals, for election expenses.

Dec. 22. Addressing a meeting of the Muslims ladies, called upon them to rise to the occasion and play their legitimate part in advancing vital sections of national life such as, educational, economic and social uplift.

Dec. 25. Attended his birthday celebration arranged by Memon Chamber of Commerce Bombay.

Dec. 27. In a statement said; "If the Hindus do not join us in our struggle for freedom, then fight for Pakistan not against Hindus."

Dec. 30. In a press statement, declared Muslims of India's clear verdict on Pakistan; advised Congress to give up her futile efforts to disrupt Muslims instructed Muslims to celebrate their victory in Central Assembly on Friday, 11th Jan. and get ready for the Provincial. elections.

Thanked Muslims, in a press statement, for their whole hearted support to the All India Muslim League which led it to capture all the thirty Muslims seats in Central Assembly.
