Jan. 5. In an interview at Karachi, noted no change in Hindu policy towards Muslim as indicated by Conference of Hindu Mahasabha and several organizations at Amritsar and Bombay.

Jan. 6. Citing Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma's) letter to the Viceroy, in an interview at Karachi, pointed out no change in Congress policy towards Muslim League.

Feb. 2. Addressed a meeting of Bombay District Muslim Students Federation.

In a speech at a meeting of All India Railway Muslim Employees Association Delhi, told Muslim to go on hammering the Government till it came to senses.

Feb. 17. In a cable to Churchill, invited his attention to the Arab questions and American Zionist propaganda, which were causing serious apprehensions.

Feb. 27. Addressed a meeting held by All India Railway Muslim Employees Association at Arabic College, Delhi; regretted that "to our misfortune, the nationalization of railways in India has left the 'Haves' and the 'Have notes' in their respective positions."

Feb. 29. Gave interview to Stuart Emeny of New Chronicle (London), at New Delhi.

March 8. In a speech at a luncheon hosted by Dr. Sir Ziauddin Ahmad, Viceroy Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, said that the Muslims and the Hindus had always been separate entities, "only they were not conscious of it."

March 9. Speaking at a function by AMSU, declared that conceding the Pakistan demand would mean freedom for both Hindus and Muslims.

March 10. Called upon Muslim women to work for Pakistan, at a meeting of Aligarh Muslim University, Muslim League, Aligarh.

March 13. Addressed a public meeting at Aligarh.

March 18. Inaugurating annual session of Punjab Muslim Students Federation, declared that 99 per cent of the Muslims were behind the Muslim League .

Replied to Allama Mashriqi's letter.

March 19. Warned Communist Party to keep their hands off the Muslims, at concluding session of Punjab Muslim Students Federation, in Lahore.

March 20. Attended Conference of Muslim members of Punjab Legislative Assembly at Lahore.

March 23. Issued Pakistan Day message.

Replying to an address presented to him by Punjab University Union, assured non-Muslim Member of the Union that in putting forth their demands, Muslim, did not have the slightest ill-will against non-Muslims."

March 24. Explaining Pakistan's scheme to a group of Sikh students at Lahore, said "I am of the opinion that every community is entitled to the right of "self determination" and I do not want to deny this right to the Sikhs."

Reception given to him by Muslims Chamber of Commerce, Lahore.

March 27. Addressing students of Islamia College for Women, Lahore, said that many impurities and UN-Islamic practices and beliefs had crept into the Muslims society, and it was the task of Muslims educational institutions to educate their children on right lines with a view to enabling them to lead an Islamic life. Also addressed, and received a purse from North-Western Railway Muslims Employees' Association at Lahore.

March 31. Attended a meeting at Forman Christian College, Lahore.

April 2. Addressing a public meeting in Urdu at Lahore, remarked that conditions of Muslims were deplorable in every department; exhorted them to strengthen Muslim League as it was a people's party.

April 4. In a public meeting at Lahore, laid stress on strengthening All India Muslim League in all Punjab districts in order to do away with deplorable position of Muslims in every dept; refuted the allegation that All India Muslim League was a body of Nawabs and landlords. In the same meeting Nawab of Mamdot announced that Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-i-Azam) was going to take up permanent residence in Lahore.

April 12. In a letter to Ahmad M.A. H. Isphahani (Calcutta), asked for his consent to becoming a Member of Planning Committee. As proposed by All India Muslim League Karachi session in Dec. 1943 for the purpose of surveying and examining conditions in India and more particularly in Pakistan areas, with a view to preparing All India Muslim League leaders to participate in commercial and agricultural activities of the country.

Also wrote to I.I. Chundrigar to ask Mohammed Habib of Habib Bank Ltd. or Mr. Hasham Premji to serve on All India Muslim League's Planning Committee.

April 18. C. Raja Gopalachariar sent his partition formula to him.

April 24. Presided over the All India Muslim League Working Committee at Delhi.

April 27. Issued statement on breakdown of J-Khizar talks at Lahore. Also wrote two letters to Khizar Hayat Khan Tiwana.

April 30. Attended Punjab Muslim League Conference at Sialkot.

In an open session of Punjab PML at Sialkot, considered the victimisation of Sardar Shaukat Hayat by the Government as unconstitutional

May 3. Issued a rejoinder to joint statement of a non-Muslim Minister of the Punjab on Muslim League -Unionist controversy.

May 9. Allama Mashriqi urged him in a letter, to see Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) and try to work out a concord.

Addressed Sialkot Muslim Students Federation members, said that "our own Muslim brothers" are causing obstruction in the attainment of Pakistan, which, he added, "pains me most" requested all such elements to sink minor differences and come under one Muslims flag.

May 24. Had a talk with Kashmiri journalists.

May 25. Talking to Kashmiri journalists, said that question of the partition of Kashmir does not arise.

May 30. Nawab Iftikhar Hussain Khan of Mamdot, President/Presidency, Punjab Pakistan Muslim League in a press interview, urged the necessity of Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) Pact.

June 3. Asked Hashim Premji, in a Ietter, to work for Muslims though he was not a Muslim League Member

June. Attended Kashmir Muslims National Conference at Srinagar.

June 20. Addressed Muslim Students Federation at Srinagar.

June 28. Sent letter to Mian Bashir Ahmad.

July 2. Sent telegram to Raja Gopalachariar from Srinagar in reply to his telegram of 30 June.

July 5. Sent another telegram to Raja gopalacharia.

July 6. Wrote about his program to visit Rawalpindi, in a letter to Ghulam Qadir, Organizer Yatim Khana and Madrasah, Anjuman Faizul Islam, Rawalpindi.

July 9. Released to press his correspondence with Raja Gopalachariar on the latters formula for a Hindu and Muslim settlement.

July 17. After release, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) wrote to Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) expressing desire to meet him; Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) assured him that he was neither the enemy of Islam nor of Muslim.

July 24. Wrote to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) conveying his consent to meet him in the middle of Aug..

July 25. Issued press statement on position of Muslim in Kashmir.

In a press statement on Kashmir situation, urged unity among Kashmiri Muslim told the state Government that "there should be constitutional liberty of speech and freedom of thought which is the elementary right of every citizen under any civilized Government ."

Exhorted Government of Kashmir for freedom of speech; deplored Sheikh Abdullah's tactics.

July 26. Left Srinagar for Lahore along with Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas. In reply to an address presented at Baramula, exhorted Muslim to sink their differences by mutual discussions; thanked Kashmir; Muslims for their hospitality and for the honor done to him.

July 28. Addressed a public meeting at Rawalpindi.

July 29. Informed All India Muslim League Working Committee of a letter from Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) proposing a meeting with him; expressed willingness to accept the proposals; reviewed latest political development with reference to publication of Raja Gopalachariar's formula.

July 30. Presided over All India Muslim League Council meeting which authorized him to negotiate with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) on Muslims problem. Presented his analysis of RajaGopalachariar's formula and his correspondence with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma).

July 31. Attended Muslim League Conference, Lahore.

Addressed a press conference, spelling out Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) and Raja Gopalachariar's approaches towards Interim Government and future constitutional framework; hoping to meet Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) soon and sort out Hindu(S) and Muslim differences. Asked Muslim to join mainstream of national struggle, i.e, All India Muslim League.

Aug. 4. Appointed Member of All India Muslim League 's Planning Committee.

Aug. 5. Addressed a press Conference at Lahore. Also gave interview to Representative of Punjab Muslim Students Federation and Punjab Students Federation/ Federal.

In a press statement at Lahore, assured Sikh Leaders of their rights in Pakistan and appealed to them to refrain from creating any obstruction in the way of achieving Pakistan.

Aug. 7. Arrived in Bhopal with Miss Fatima Jinnah.

Aug. 17. In a telegram to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma), informed him of his inability to meet him on 19 Aug. due to high fever; said that he would inform him of another date immediately after he was well.

Replied to Naicker Ramaswami's letter of 9 Aug. on the Dravidastan issue. Saying that he had no objection to his Dravidastan demand and left it to be decided by the concerned people.

Aug. 26. In a letter to Prof. Muhammad Azam regarding his Urdu translation of Carlyle's Heroes and Hero Worship, said that he had read it in English, while a student in England, and that he was very much fascinated by Carlyle.

Wrote to Raghib Ahsan, requesting for maps of Bihar, Bengal and India.

Aug. 31. Called upon all Shias to unite with other Muslim under All India Muslim League banner, in reply to Ali Zaheer's letter of 25 July 1944. Also dispelled Shias' fear that they would not be treated well by the Muslim League.

Sent message to South African Muslim on the occasion of Durban Educational and Cultural Conference.

Sept. 9-27. Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) talks and correspondence continued. Parleys failed. Reiterated end reaffirmed that All India Muslim League was the only authoritative and Representative. organization of Muslim India, in a letter to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) of 17 Sept. Also removed in the same letter, the ambiguity created by the use of words "states" in the Lahore Resolutions.

Sept. 11. Sympathising with Syed Abdul Aziz, in a letter on his illness, said that he would call on him as soon as he was free from his conversation with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma).

Also wrote to Maulana Mohammed Akram Khan on the latters scheme regarding establishment of Eastern Pakistan state.

Sept. 15. In reply to Zafarul Mulk's letter of 12 Sept. said that 21 Ramazan is observed as Shahadat Day of Hazrat Ali, irrespective of the question of Shia or Sunni belief.

Sept. 30. Sent RS.500 to Raja Ghulam Qadir, Organizer,Anjuman-i-Faizallslam, Rawalpindi, as donation.

Refuted Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma), statement that Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) correspondence was leaked out from Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam's) office.

Oct. 4. In a press Conference criticized Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's (Mahatma)'s statement on Bombay talks; termed Raja Gopalachariar's formula as burial of Pakistan scheme.

Addressed a press Conference at Bombay on Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's (Mahatma) correspondence.

Oct. 6. Gave interview to a foreign correspondent at Bombay.

Oct. 14. Interviewed by a correspondent of Daily Worker (London) in Bombay.

Oct. 18. In a press statement, denied having given any interview to Edward Thompson during the latter's visit to India in 1939.

Oct. 19. Thanked Raghib Ahsan, Member Bengal Pakistan Muslim League Working Committee, for supplying a lot of information about Bihar and Bengal, and about Indian politics along with his views on greater Bengal to be included in Pakistan scheme.

Oct. 22. Wavell telegraphed to Emery that Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam) and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) held the keys of the situation and cannot be bypassed.

Oct. 28. Spoke at a reception given by Bombay MCC; denying that Muslims were communalists and Hindu nationalists; said that "Hindus are the most exclusive persons in the world. Hindu say we are brothers, but when the ballot boxes are opened, all Hindu stand on one side united and the Muslim are left alone."

Attended a reception given by Bombay Muslim Chamber of Commerce.

Nov. 8. Wrote to Abdus Sattar Kheiri.

H.A. Sattar H. Essak Sait complained in the Assembly that the complete text of Mohammed Ali Jinnah (Quaid-I-Azam's) Eid-ul-Fitr message was not broadcast by All India Radio, while Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's (Mahatma) 's message was broadcast in full. A Government Member denied this charge.

Nov. 12. Inaugurated J Football Tournament at Delhi.

Nov. 14. Thanked Shah Nawaz Khan for providing information on measures taken by All India Muslim League workers on HM riots in Rohtak.

Dec. 5. Issued statement on his talks with Sir Ghulam Hussain Hidatyatullah, Chief Minister Sind.

Dec. 6. Met the Viceroy.

Told Viceroy that the concept of Hindu and Muslim unity in India had been tried for the last 30 years and had completely failed; that Pakistan was both necessary and desirable that Muslim had been led by their experience of Congress to regard Pakistan as the only solution.

Dec. 9. Issued a statement on Iqbal Day celebrations.

Dec. 12. Issued press statement on affairs of North West Frontier Province, from New Delhi.

Dec. 14. Replied to Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru's letter of 10 Dec. on Non-party Conference.

Dec. 18. Allama Mashriqi wired him and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma) to meet again.

Dec. 24. Attended reception by Karachi Muslim Chamber of Commerce.
