Feb. 16. Presided over a meeting of All India Muslim League parliamentary party wherein it was decided to send a three Member delegation to Jaipur State for representing Muslim grievances to the Prime Minister of Jaipur State.

Council rejected the Federation / Federal Scheme in the 1935 Act and authorized the President to amend the scheme or adopt an alternative scheme, which corresponded to the minimum demands of Indian Muslims Congratulated Indian Princes, especially the Nizam of Hyderabad for their bold stand against the Federation / Federal Scheme. Condemned Sikandar Hayat's statement made in the Punjab Legislative Assembly on 24 April, regarding Ind.-British Trade Agreement which was contrary to All India Muslim League declared policy.

Sept. 2. All India Muslim League members in Assembly requested him to call a meeting of All India Muslim League Working Committee so that Muslim could discuss their attitude towards the War.

Participated in Assembly debate on Resolution of Sir Jeremy Raisman, Finance Member regarding Payment of Contributions from Railway Revenues to General Revenues; alleged: "Government of India are really incapable of managing any big business"; suggested appointment of committee to examine question of railway Finances.
Sept. In a message to Vice-president /Presidency, Muslim University Students' Union, Aligarh, exhorted the Muslim youth to be "prepared for any service or sacrifice", for the case of Muslim nation.

Sept. 28. In a speech at the annual dinner of Osmania University Old Boy's Association, said, "Islam expects you, one and all, to do your duty and stand by your people as one nation"
Sept. 29. At the annual function of Osmania University Old Boys Association in Hyderabad (Deccan), said, "I still remain a nationalist. I have always believed in a HM pact. But such a pact can only be an honorable one and not a pact which will mean the destruction of one and the survival of the other"."
Oct. 1. Issued statement in reply to Lord Zetland's speech on Indian political settlement in House of Lords.
Oct. 4. In an interview to Manchester Guardian on "Democracy in India", said that, "democracy can only mean Hindu Raj all over India. This is a position to which Muslims will never submit"

Oct. 6. Informed Rajendra Prasad that he had taken up matter of protection of rights and interests of minorities with Viceroy who instructed Province Governments to do the needful.

In a Letter, Jawaharlal Nehru informed him that he would meet him either in Bombay or Delhi after his return from Wardha; regretted that the Hindu-Muslim problem had not been settled in a friendly way and hoped to discuss all aspects of the question in the next meeting. Said that there was no course open to the Indian National Congress except to reject Viceroy's suggestions and hoped that Mohammed Ali Jinnah would also express his strong disapproval of the Viceroy's statement.
Oct. 26. Informed Allama Mashriqi of the details of his negotiations with the leaders regarding the Khaksar dispute with the U.P. Government said that in case his advice was unacceptable, Allama Mashriqi was free to adopt any course deemed fit by him.
Oct. 27. Suggested, in a statement, that Muslim League - Congress dispute be referred to a tribunal.
Oct. 30. Asked Linlithgow, the Viceroy, about the points, which he wanted to discuss with him on 1 Nov.
Nov. 1. Along with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Rajendra Prasad, conferred with Viceroy on creation of harmonious working at the center.
Nov. 2. Conferred with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi for devising an acceptable formula to solve India's immediate political problems. Jawaharlal Nehru and Azad reached Delhi for the same purpose.
In a letter to Jawaharlal Nehru, said that the Jawaharlal Nehru Committee proposals relating to Hindu -Muslim settlement might be treated as counter proposals to the Delhi Muslim Proposals; expressed warm appreciation of the efforts made at Lucknow to accommodate the Delhi Muslim Proposals, although, according to him, there still remained some points of material difference regarding the reservation of Muslim seats in the Punjab and Bengal and Muslim Representative at the center and hoped that Jawaharlal Nehru Committee would take necessary steps in that direction. Informed him about the All India Muslim League Council meeting at Lucknow on 11-12 Nov., where the whole question would be considered by them, and said that as the President of the All India Muslim League and the Chairman of the All India Muslim League Committee, it would not do for him to anticipate their decision with regard to the Jawaharlal Nehru Report as amended by the Lucknow Conference. Requested him to postpone the Convention till after the Indian National Congress and All India Muslim League sessions in Dec.
Nov. 4. In a statement Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, said, "J looks to the British Government for the preservation of rights of the Muslims he is not satisfied with what the Congress says or agrees to".
Along with Rajendra Prasad, conveyed Muslim League and Congress viewpoints on India's political future to Viceroy.
Nov. 5. In a Letter to Viceroy, Lord Linlithgow, asked him to consider the following: (1) Act of 1935 should be reconsidered; (2) no declaration of any kind be issued without consent of two major communities Hindu and Muslim (3) all reasonable demands of Arabs in Palestine should be met and (4) Indian troops should not be used outside India against any Muslim power or Country.
In a rejoinder to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, on his article in the Harijan, on Hindu -Muslim unity said Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's allegations against Mohammed Ali Jinnah were unfounded.
Nov. 6. His statement appeared in The Statesman, in reply to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's article on Hindu -Muslim unity.
Nov. 7. Reaffirmed his readiness to come to a settlement with Hindu in a public speech at Bombay. Linlithgow thanked him for his 5 Nov. letter and recognized importance of points raised by him.
Nov. 8. Addressing a huge Muslim public meeting at Bombay declared unless the Congress High Command gave up Fascist mentality, there could not be any settlement.
Nov. 9. Issued press statement on Congress proposal for arbitration between Muslim League and Congress.
Nov. 13. Unfurled Muslim League flag at Esplanade Maiden, Bombay.
In an address to a huge gathering of Muslim at Islamia Maidan after Eid congregation, exhorted them to unite under the flag of Muslim League to project their political entity.

Nov. 26-27. Lord Linlithgow allowed him to publish correspondence between them.
Nov. 28. Speaking at the first death anniversary of Maulana Shaukat Ali organized by Anjuman Ittehad-e-Tulaba, as chief guest, said "It was his belief that the Muslim possessed better political approach (mind) than other Sects. All India Muslim League had brought them under one flag and given them a line of action. They should reorganize and enlarge their organization".

Dec. 1. In a letter, Jawaharlal Nehru asked him to fix a date for a meeting to discuss various aspects of the communal problem; inquired of him about his whereabouts in the third week of Dec. or later, as this information was required by Cripps who was due to visit India.
Dec. 2. Called upon Muslim in a statement, to observe 22 Dec. as Deliverance Day as Congress Government had ceased to function.
Dec. 4. Asked Jawaharlal Nehru to meet him, in reply to his letter of 1 Dec.

Dec. 8. Expressed his surprise at "the sudden conversion" of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi to the idea of a Constitute Assembly.
In a letter to Dr. Rajendra Prasad, sympathized with him for being down with asthma; regretted that he had received, no reply to his letter (16 Nov.) presuming that his letter did not reach him; stated that he had endorsed a copy of the said letter by registered post to ensure its receipt.
Criticized Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's telegram to a British newspaper. Expressed reservations on his (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's) somersault relating to Constitute Assembly.
Dec. 9. Criticizing MKG's letter published in the daily News Chronicle, London declared he would leave no stone unturned for an honorable settlement on behalf of the Muslim.
In a letter, Jawaharlal Nehru informed him that he had read in the newspapers his statement fixing 22 Dec. as a "Day of Deliverance and thanks giving". Said that in the light of that announcement, he felt it that their sense of values and objectives in life as well as in politics differed very greatly; suggested that there must be some common ground for discussion, some common objective to be arrived at, for that discussion to yield fruit.
Reiterated his statement about observance of Day of Deliverance.
Dec. 13. Demanded, in a statement from Bombay, the appointment of Royal commission to investigate grievances of Muslim in Congress Province repeated his appeal for observing Day of Deliverance. In reply to Jawaharlal Nehru's letter of 9 Dec., said: "So long as the Congress is not prepared to treat the All India Muslim League as the authoritative and Representative organization of the Muslim of India, it was not possible to carry on talks regarding the Hindu -Muslim settlement.
Dec. 14. In a letter, Jawaharlal Nehru said that politically they had no common ground and that their objects were different and that the Day of Deliverance approach in itself made discussion difficult and fruitless, adding that "that approach to the communal problem can not be reconciled with an attempt to solve it".
Dec. l5. Refused to talk with Jawaharlal Nehru on Hindu -Muslim issue if Congress did not recognize All India Muslim League as Representative of Indian Muslim in reply to Jawaharlal Nehru latter of 14 Dec
Dec. l6. In a Letter, Jawaharlal Nehru informed him that he felt that there was little in common in their political objectives and that the decision to have an All-India demonstration on 22 Dec. had added "a psychological barrier, which prevented mutual approach and discussion". Saying that "I regret this exceedingly and have earnestly wished that you would see your way to remove this barrier which is leading and can only lead to ill will".
Dec.22. Muslim observed Day of Deliverance throughout British India, in response to his call; issued message to mark the occasion.
Dec. 23. On points raised by him in his letter of 5 Nov., Lord Linlithgow assured him that the Government policy was not to take any action without consulting Muslim community.
Dec. 25. Expressed happiness on suspension of Federation/Federal Scheme.
Dec. 27-28. Presided over the first session of the AIMS Conference at Calcutta.
Dec. 30. In a statement Jawaharlal Nehru declared that Congress would no longer continue any dialogue with All India Muslim League through Mohammed Ali Jinnah who was bent upon protecting the British rule in India.
