The following are a list of links used whilst conducting my research. They have been split into their relevant sections.

 

Making History

usinfo.state.gov - outline of United States history published by the US government.

American Memory at The Library of Congress - detailed section on cultural memory of the USA and its legacy. Good site for understanding what collective memory means to different Americans.

Edward Said Archive - website dedicated to the world renowned scholar, philosopher and humanitarian. Contains articles and correspondences. Said was a keen critic of American foreign policy.

Anninna's Toni Morrison Page - website dedicated to the Nobel and Pulitzer prize winning author and her works - includes her books, essays, articles etc. Morrison is the author of one of literature's greatest historiographical novels, "Beloved". Morrison wrote the book as a response to a lack of suitable commemorisation for slavery in the USA.

Czeslaw Milosz Nobel lecture - transcription and audio recording of the poet's 1980 Nobel lecture.

Nobel Prize - Toni Morrison's nobel prize page, contains her lecture at the award ceremony.

Osaka University Native American Research - exceptionally detailed archive containing fascinating accounts of NA life before and after 'western expansion'.

Hanksville.org - contains a fantastic index of all things Native American available on the web.

Encyclopaedia of Slavery - educational website filled with info. on slavery in general - contains slave accounts, slave system, slave life, events and issues etc.

Antislavery.org - organisation comitted to the eradication of slavery worldwide.

www.maafa.org - Visual record of attrocities committed during The African American Holocaust in America - WARNING - this site contains graphic images.

Vietnam Memorial Wall - website with personal accounts and photos of the monument in Washington.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum - museum interactive website, with extensive links to other Holocaust sites.

Florida Holocaust Museum - official website.

Jewish Federation's LA Holocaust Museum - official website with links to other holocaust sites and exhibitions.

Museum of Jewish Heritage - Holocaust museum in New York, contains accounts of Jewish immigrants and of Holocaust survivors.

Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art - contains the largest collection of Judaica in the American South West, also contains detailed accounts of Jewish emigration from Europe over the last three hundred years.

Federalism and The New Conservatism - neo-republican website devoted to all things Ronald Reagan. Contains speeches.

Time Magazine - article by Jack White concerning the Reagan administration and racism.

 

Remembering Today

September11thNews.com - wealth of info. on this site including links leading to virtually every 9/11 topic.

September 11th Archive - this internet site has archived approximately 4,000 websites related to the September 11th attacks . The collection was commisioned by the Library of Congress.

How Many Bytes in Human Memory? - article by Ralph C. Merkle, Distinguished Professor of Computing at Georgia Technical College. Documents the connection between computer memory and the human brain. Article first appeared in Foresight Update, a nano-technology journal.
