As my departure date quickly approaches, I've been asked many times about my itinerary and schedule, so I thought I would include this information as my second "update."  Thanks to all of you who helped me prepare and pack, and otherwise remain a sane individual.  I love you all.

Staging: Sunday, January 22 - Tuesday, January 24
Staging is a pre-departure orientation.  This is the first stage of Volunteer service as a trainee.  It is the state-side introduction to Volunteer safety and service overseas.

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Open Registration
3:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Welcome Program (Welcome and Introductions, Peace Corps Approach to Development, Personal Definition of Success, Anxieties and Aspirations, Safety and Support, and Nuts and Bolts)

Monday, January 23, 2006
8: 30 - 12:00 p.m. - Training Program (A Slice of Life: Coping with Unwanted Attention, Managing Risk and Crossing Cultures)
1:30 - 6:00 p.m.  -  Training Program (Change 5 Things, Policies in Practice, Staging Capstone, Bridge to Pre-Service Training, Logistics of Departure, Evaluation and Closing)

Tuesday, January 24, 2006
7:30 a.m. -  Depart for Clinic
10:00 a.m. - Check out of Hotel
11:00 a.m. - Bus leaves for airport

Training: Thursday, January 26 - Wednesday, March 29
Pre-service training provides language, cross-culture and technical sessions at the site.  During training, each Volunteer lives with a host family.  The training is divided between 3 weeks working alongside currently serving education Volunteers and completing practical activities within schools and communities around the training site.  The training lasts 9 weeks in Kitwe, Zambia. The first two days will be spent in a lodge near Lusaka before moving to the training site in Kitwe.

Flight Information
Tuesday, January 24: Delta Airlines Flight 7796
Leaves JFK at 5:55 p.m.  Arrives in Johannesburg at 5:50 p.m. (via Dakar) on Wednesday, January 25.

Thursday, January 26: Delta Airlines Flight 7780
Leaves Johannesburg at 11:40 a.m.  Arrives in Lusaka at 1:40 p.m.
