To Walk-Through

The Master Sword and Final Preparations
To the Sword From the castle, jump down on the left side of Spectacle Rock and head back down the bridge. At the bottom, go through the cave to your left. After you exit, you will find yourself on a ledge overlooking the cave where you first met Magic Mirror man. Jump off and head southwest. Once you are following the dirt path near the small lake, head north into the Lost Woods (take the entrance just west of the Fortune Teller). Many bandits and thieves roam the forest; if you get near enough to them, they will bash into you and steal rupees, hearts, and tools. If you do happen to run into one, snag as many of your possessions as you can, then ward the bandit off with your sword. They cannot be killed, but if you stand far enough away, they won't come after you. This walk-through won't take you by any of these thieves. From the entrance, head north (watch out for the bird) and west the second chance you get. You will find a tiny house with a square patch of bushes in the back. Cut down the bushes to reveal a hole -- deja vu, anyone? Grab Piece of Heart #4, then pass through the hideout. From the house, head north through a log. Go west then south (watch out for another bird). Go west a bit further and head up the log leading north. Make sure you got the Magic Mushroom on the path; if you didn't get it now, you can snag it on the way out of the woods. The Master Sword Watch all the fluffy rodents and birdies go by, then head north to the alter. Read the inscription using the Book of Mudora, then go around to the sword and pull a King Arthur. The Master Sword is a wonderful weapon. If all your heart containers are full, it will release lightning when you use it; it allows you to attack your enemies from far away, though it's not as powerful as straight-out using the steel. This new sword has a longer reach and its attacks are twice as powerful as your old blade's. After the Pendants are done flying around and you have your nice, new weapon, Sahasrahla will contact you. Listen to him (as if you really have much of a choice), then go back south, watching all the fun critters again. As soon as you exit the log, Zelda will call to you. You don't really have to hurry to the Sanctuary like she says since you're always "just a few seconds too late" no matter how fast you go. Return to the Sanctuary to speak with the old man, then prepare yourself for your first battle with Agahnim. Weapons and Tools From the Sanctuary, go west and round the ledge with the tree in the same screen as the Sanctuary. Bash into the pile of rocks to get Piece of Heart #10. Head east and pass the graveyard. Once you come to water, dive in and swim to the diving dock on the other side. Head east until you reach the witch's house. Give her the Magic Mushroom from the Lost Woods and fill up on hearts inside if you need to. You must wait a while before the witch's thank-you is ready, so head south through the mound area, all the way to Lake Hylia. Avoiding the Zoras, head south and follow the bottom wall east until you find a long diving platform. Head north until you find a cave. Pull open the large white stone to reveal a staircase. Inside, you will find Rupees and a thief who tells you something you had already figured out. Go back outside and bomb open the crack just left of the cave door. Inside, you'll receive the Ice Rod. If you go into the already-opened cave door and bomb open another crack, you will find yourself in a strange faerie fountain. Do what you will with the faeries, but if you ram into the bee statue, the Good Bee will emerge. True to its name, if you catch it in a bottle, it will make a handy friend. However, if it is a matter of bottle space, always your reserve your bottles first for potions and faeries. This bee isn't really worth the trouble and I rarely even go into this room in the game. Now go all the way back to the witch's house and retrieve the bag of Magic Powder that is waiting for you. This is also not needed in the game, but it provides great quantities of fun, seeing as you can change the forms of some enemies with it. It can be useful, however, if you are having trouble with an anti-faerie (it turns it into a faerie) or a green-electrocution-thingy (it turns it into a harmless potato-head).
