Time of Music

Bar?

In the diagram "The Time of Music" we are assuming that the bar size, i.e. the duration of time for the bar for each of the three "Time" of music, namely 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 is the same and is boxed in red.
For the 4/4 type of music there are four beats that are equally spaced, as shown in the top row.

For 2/4 type the first and the second beats are prominent. In between the first and the second beats, is a minor beat, shown by the sigh "&". After the second beat there may or may not be a minor beat. However, when counting the beats here, a majority of the times, it appears to have the count of "1&2" (count One And Two, the second syllable of the "two" is extended as "uuh", to account for the space or the minor beat after two).

3/4 type of music has three beats, equally spaced in the given space, as shown in the diagram.
