General Comparison

Wavelenght, Kilometre and Bar!

Physics
The sine wave has a rise and fall. Both these together form a wavelength that is repeated on and on as the wave progresses. Wavelength is a big word, too many letters in it. So there is a short form, the lambda, its symbol looks like the letter "Y" standing up side down. Next part is the speed that here is referred to as the frequency. It is the measure of the number of lambda's occurring in a second and its unit is hertz. The last part is the form of waves. We have sinusoidal wave, triangular wave, saw-tooth wave, square wave, etc.

In music the equivalent for the wavelength is the Bar, for lambda is the number "4", for the frequency is Tempo, and for the form of waves is the Time of Music.

Driving
When travelling from one place to another the repetitive part in the distance, is the Kilometre. It is such a long word, so we have a short form, Km. Speed is an important factor as it determines the length of time it would take to reach the destination. This is measured in the number of kilometres travelled in an hour. The equally important is the type of road, which can be tar road, cement road, macadam road, "kuccha" road, etc.

In music the equivalent for the repetitive part, the kilometre is the Bar, for short form Km it is the number "4", for speed it is the tempo, and for the type of road it is the Time of Music.
