Waltz: Basic Sequence: Part 7

The first basic sequence.
Basic Sequence:
1. First Part
2. Second Part
3. Third Part
4. Fourth Part
    Reverse/Natural Turn
    Hesitation
    Combination
    Under Arm Turn

Seventh Lesson: Practice in Pairs
Here, this part needs to be done with a partner, however for the start not in hold. Stand in front and facing each other with considerable distance in between. Thus, when one is doing the sequence as given above the partner is doing the counterpart movement. This means that if one is moving with the Left foot forward, then the partner is moving with the Right foot back, and so on.

The man and the lady alike must know these movements. The turn component is not included in this part of the exercise.

Once you are comfortable with this exercise then the same is done in pairs, as tried earlier on in the lessons. If the partners are of the opposite sex, then the regular ballroom hold is used; or else, both the partners can hold each other’s shoulders or either of them can hold on the shoulders of the partner.

1. First Part: Left Close Change (Pairs) 2. First Part: Right Close Change (Pair)
3. Hesitation: 4. Combination: Pair
5. Combination: 6. Pause Step
